As per title
After some reading i've narrowed my choise to this 3, as i dont wanna spend too much yet, on audiophiles. I've got to know koss 75, but i dont like clip earphone. If u guys have anything from RM50-100 product better to suggest, please do!
I owned a Creative HN505, which i will leave it at home for house use.
Now i'm looking for a suitable headphone for myself.

These are the important information for a suitable headphone :
I'm using this coming earphone from my Laptop (HP tx2520) or Ipod Classic 6G.
I'm using it more for music and movie. Music that i listen to mostly consist of soft music, piano(richard clayderman), chinese-pop, new age music, OST.. Less for rock. I practically dislike rock music.
It should be comfortable for long usage. I gave up my Hn505 for this.
I dont bring this earphone everywhere i go, i already got an IEM. Just gonna let it stick with my laptop

Thanks!

I have tried SHP2700 and T22 before. I prefer T22 and it's just RM6x now. The build isn't very sturdy though. The head band looks lightweight but it still serves properly. T22 gives a more airy/dynamic sound and the bass is a solid 'thud'.

Dont let the price fooled you, it's actually a nice choice (from the reviews I read in forums).

Ok I tried both cans already.Shall we start the review now? brows.gif

Audio Player : foobar2k

Soundcard : EMU 0404
Amp : Pa2v2

Ok let's start with some few song that I listen pretty much lately (most of them are in FLAC btw) rclxms.gif

ANZA - Tobira Wo Akete

One of the best OP song in anime series,Cardcaptor Sakura

QUOTE
- ATH-T22

The song is abit muddy but the bass inside is superb.Too bad the bass is actually the cause of all those muddy sounds. The muddiness amplified when ANZA started to scream abit. Not good if you really wanna enjoy this kind of vocal song shakehead.gif

- SHP2700

I can hear more detail with this one seriously since the muddy sound that I heard on ATH-T22 is totaly gone for good. The bass is not as dynamic as the ATH-T22 but heck I enjoyed this one alot.More detail on this song just make it more enjoyable to listen srsly rclxm9.gif

Enya - Orinoco Flow

One of my favourite "new age" song. Can really bring peace to your mind and soul at times icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE
- ATH-T22

As usual it's abit muddy but not as horrible as previous song that I played just now.The soundstage is remarkable.I just can't seem to stop listening the song itself for quite a while already drool.gif

- SHP2700

Less muddy but I cannot feel the awesome soundstage that I just feel with ATH-T22 sweat.gif

Mariah Carey - Hero

Great song to listen at 4am in the morning

QUOTE
- ATH-T22

No-brainer.win hands down due the fact the soundstage is far more superior then SHP2700.

- SHP2700

Feels flat. Not fun at all but the detail is sharp as usual
THE DYING BREED - My World Down

Probably the best heavy rock song so far

QUOTE
- ATH-T22

Feels weird in my side.Although there's no distortion but the sound is not that clean compared to SHP2700

- SHP2700

Cleaner, better sound has been produced here.Great.

50 Cent - In da Club

Hip Hop song yo

QUOTE
- ATH-T22

Fun.Enjoyed the song really thanks to it's superb bass that been produced here

- SHP2700

Lack bass.Horrible.
I can say is that those two headphones served me very well if I choose which song is suitable for those two cans that I use.I can conclude that Audio Technica ATH-T22 is much2 better for any techno,hip-hop and some english vocal songs thanks to its awesome soundstage and good "thud" bass but beware it's muddy sound. It's will be your worse nightmare if you choose a wrong song to play with it.The good thing about SHP2700 is that most of vocal songs (note:animu song) that i listened to are awesome with this can thanks to it cleaner, more detail sound that it produced.About lacking bass problem, from my past experience if you use WMP11 EQ to listen to the song,I can say that the bass problem will be gone just like that.

Anyway for all rounder ATH-T22 is the best choice you can get so far.But for poeple who really care about the detail while ignoring the bass might consider shp2700 as your perfect companion for listening pleasure biggrin.gif

Thanks for the well described review. I think most people that is choosing headphones below rm100 should read these. I've decided for ATH T22. Maybe i'll write about it after i get it.

Thumbs up for you Hitman66

Added on November 26, 2008, 3:55 ami go for ATH T22 because i kind of like new age songs, and looking at SHP2700 lack of bass, watching movie with lots of bomb with it will be not as good.. right?

Recently bought the SHP2700, can't really make any comparison since the last headphone I used cost around RM10. Main usage are for musics and movies mostly on my laptops and media players. I chose Philips because I read a few reviews on the net and found that Philips are known for their bass and clarity. Most of the songs I listen to is towards rock & hip-hop which I found just does the job perfectly well for me. Maybe I haven't been so called 'poisoned' by better headphones. But what the heck, at least it is up to my expectations.

Okay confession time. I ended up with SHP2700 when i went to Sri Computer in Lowyat, with a steal price of RM75. Well, i tried the demo set, and i'm impress enough for its bass, as a newbie of audiophiles, i will start off with this set. Maybe my next set will be t22 / m30 from ATH. Hehe..

very nice review there comparing T22 and SHP2700.
This thread should serve nicely for those who're considering getting either headphones.

Btw, T22's price had jacked up abit, refer to Akabane's bulk thread for the new price.

the drawback for 2700 is basically it's soundstage...it's nt the can that will make you"wow"(closed-back cans)~and the sound is on the cold side...these characters make it the perfect can for my sony walkman though..haha

I don't call them cold sound, the vocal sound 'compressed' and tinny especially on female vocal, giving cold impression. SHP2700 more emphasis on bass and treble rather than vocal, and some frequency are boosted than the other. The soundstage is quite big but it have a funny sound in it, not as precise or accurate as more established brand like Sennheiser. Its not for people looking for accurate sound, but more 'fun' sound biggrin.gif Its great for lesser sources as well (128kbps mp3 for example)

I've tried the SHP 2700 (own them) with SHP 8900 and the 8900 is better 1% if using onboard notebook soundcard with a very cheap casing. 8900 build quality is much2 better. SHP 2700 is better 5% than the SHP 2000 for me. Both the SHP 2000 and 8900 were my friend's.
