I got my TA2020 singing now. million thanks to Xtorm

initial impression: not much different compared to my TA2024, not day and night difference.

If running 80% volume, it will clip at some music passages.
It might due to my power supply,using the same EI tranny setup as in my TA2024 (swap the amp circuit only)

Give it run in for sometime and 'see' how it goes.

Auuwww not fair! I've already paid for mine and it's not even out for postage..   

Hmm! Know nothing about this. What things would T-amp pair with normally? PC?

I've looked at xtorm's diagram but the volume pot is for mono channel, if use dual channel like xtorm's pic below (xtorm, borrow your photo yeah?)

my T-amp is just burning its 1st hr!

wow.....even 1st hr is soooo much better in soundstage and clarity compared to my old Onkyo....vocals are right in front of me and very lively, especially plucking of acoustic guitars, quick conclusion: my Tannoy M2s now singing like never before!!! this is ONLY its 1st hr of birth!

cant say too much as mine is ONLY ta2020 normal version n all using basic JP stuffs, heck if not then recycle parts found in store room...even the box is an aluminium cookie box only. very malu, 1st time doing DIY electronic stuffs... but very glad

of coz, without tips here especially from Jazzy, impossible for me to get it running at all hehe

Hi guys, newbie here, bought T2020 from xstorm months ago and only recently i finally got my hands to complete this small diy project

heres the picture for sharing. 

Because of the edgy high and mid, I buy a pair Wima 2.2uf to replace the input cap. First impression is much better and smoother. Jheena Lodwick is really singing. I think you can consider this if you found the vocal is very edgy not to your liking.
Who got Mundorf to change and let us know the result.

Caps need a few 'good hours' to break in..
I go agree about the midband being 'edgy'... maybe its not the input caps?

Jazzy, maybe a full mod 2020 will unleash it's full potential. I saw some good review of vocal of this chip.

Xtorm, I thought I gave you the TC2000/TP2050 application notes in pdf? I attach again below. If you look at the application notes, the audio inputs should go to pins 23 and 28 of the TC2000 controller chip. And since there are already soldered to the tracks you need to find the tracks to those pins.[attachmentid=1537298]
