saw ur cooler... 'nice' temp -____-... try going for water cooling+peltier brows.gif
*
Peltiers are not really useful for anything that puts out more than 100W heat, to get enough cooling the peltier will need to be excessively powerful; to the point where even water cooling will have trouble. Couple with the problems of condensation, you might as well go phase change. The only advantage is a WC+pelt system is much lighter to carry around.

i wan..... money big issue lar
custom swiftech set not cheap man...

ohh did anybody saw the sapphire 4870X2 atomic? comes preinstall with water cooling and cpu water block included.. pretty cool and perform pretty good too. OCC site got review
OMG GTX295. retail cheaper than 4870X2.. omgomgomg ati kena pawn back ><
*
I wouldn't really call it pawn..production cost for ATI 48xx series is much lower than nvidia 200 series, yields are better for 48xx series too. It would be a simple matter for ATI to reduce price anytime, while nvidia is already at the limit. And while yes, nvidia has the performance crown again, graphic card development is faster than CPU, ATI will be launching their next model in a matter of months, definitely within the next 6 months. And it'll be 40nm, for the first time GPU manufacturing technology surpasses CPU manufacturing (Intel is going 32nm only end of 2009, AMD in 2010).

Phenom II rocks btw. 6+GHZ OC by AMD, and at least 4.6GHz by other parties. Using LN2, of course. Can't wait for it to be officially out. AMD's not taking any performance crowns with it, but at least they'll be back in the playing field. Right now they're pretty much just hanging on sidelines.

AMD's BACK!!!!

Dragon platform rocks! Penryn has serious competition now! bruce.gif

Of course i7 still beats it, but it costs the earth and sky mega_shok.gif mega_shok.gif
And after overclocking, Phenom II is uncomfortably close to non-overclocked i7 performance..and Phenom II is not as sensitive to high voltages as i7 (datasheet says 1.5vCore ALLOWED, rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif ), and we can still use our AM2/AM2+ boards brows.gif

In the case of Phenom II, its not that bad, since its still compatible with existing AM2/AM2+ boards. Price is still not too bad considering its performance, around C2Q 9xxx series price.

I just checked, stocks still available.
Anyone can help me make a purchase, me no CC or Paypal here...
That very much depends on usage.  biggrin.gif
Btw, you could always get 4x1gb for 4gb, that should be decent enough.

There are a number of traders here selling paypal funds, kucing had 1K+ USD available not long ago but all gone now. You don't need a credit card for a paypal account, you only need it to verify your account (meaning you'll be limited to 100USD max per transaction).

I like clean and sleek look,
I put nothing in front of my Cosmos S casing,
not even a DVD-RW coz only when formatting computer,
I just use the DVD-RW,
so, I just plug and format then unplug it.

Do the stealth mod on your DVD drive.

Every expert here, this is my "1st timer" overclocking. Bump some HTT multiplier and ram timing. Based on the screen shot, can I go further more?  notworthy.gif

All using stock cooler.

Its not bad at all for a first attempt. You're lucky to be using a processor stepping that is relatively cool while overclocking, most of the other Ahtlons would have heat problems at the clockspeed you're running, yours is the exception. You can still go further, but the increased voltage that will be required will mean a better cooler would be recommended.

Adrian,

Cost breakdown of lowest cost, high-performance water cooling

Old heatercore/radiator from car/bike -RM100
Nirox P2800 modded -RM40
Generic tubing -RM4
T-line -RM20
Battery water (equivalent to distilled water) -RM4
High CFM fan -RM40 each
Fuzion 2 block -RM320 (new)

Total: RM528 with 1 fan and brand new block

What you lose by skimping
-Old radiator is probably dirty, rusty and lacks proper hose connections. You'll need to flush, de-rust and mod the thing before you can use it. Plus side is you'll probably get a better rad for a fraction of the price, though it'll take up more space.
-No reservoir, bleeding air with a t-line isn't as easy as it sounds. Expect to spend half hour or more each time you need to do it.
-No fungicide or anti corrosion additives. You'll have to change water more often, though by comparision to other downsides this is pretty minor. Corrosion is more of a headache though, you'll have to double check that all the parts touching the water are either non-metal or copper (since fuzion's base is copper). Then again, anti-corrosion additives or not, mixing metals in a WC loop is just a really bad idea.
-High CFM fan means lotsa noise. And you'll need it to be high CFM cos most car/bike rads are pretty restrictive. Alternative is more fans in parallel and/or push-pull, then you can turn down the speed, but means more money in fans.

Plus side is you have a full WC set running, upgrading is fairly straightforward after that. And every upgrade adds a lot of bang for your buck, carrying forward from system to system is also a lot easier than with aircooling. Btw my WC setup is up and running on my AM2, getting a C2Q running hopefully by next week.

guys, where to buy cheap n reliable DVD+R DL disc in penang eh?
any good shop and brand that u know off ?
so far i always buy verbatim ..
*
Well, the two best disks known are Mitsubishi and Taiyo-Yuden. Kao Yek in both BJ and Prangin sells Mitsubishi, and the corner shop near Mega Online in Prangin also sells Mitsubishi. Thing is, I'm not sure if they have mitsubishi DL disks, if you really end up desperate ngbh (forumer) sells them.

I've never heard of anywhere selling Taiyo-Yuden, though I seem to recall someone once selling on either lelong or LYN.

Wanted to go PC fair today, but when I saw the jam I thought "forget it man".

I'm using Logitech Clavier Media, got it for 35-40 bucks in Mind Maker in Sg Dua (I know Mind Maker sucks, but hey, its only a keyboard). Quite happy with it, decent touch, on par with the Microsoft and Dell keyboards. Definitely better than your old Samsung even when it was new.
