What's his pc full specs? For me anything above 550W shall be safe; unless he's using low end gc below 4850/GTS250.
With that low RM300 budget I don't think u can even get a real power PSU above 500W.
Enermax 620W real power from AllnGap for RM350?
*
The Liberty 620w? RM350 from AllnGap is soooo expensive...
I know how much it cost in retail, but if you know the cost price of the units you will puke. Trust me...

Btw it's her.
The full setup should look like this.
Core i7 920
Gigabyte X58 DS3R
3x1gb Kingston DDR3 1333
640GB WD Caviar Blue
GeCube ATI Radeon 4830/4770

QUOTE(cschun86 @ May 12 2009, 10:54 PM)
haha, got veloci let me know as well tongue.gif
oh? got money go for i7 but no money to go for better psu?
like putting ferrari engine into wira tongue.gif
well, i think PSU better get those with warranty,
one of the easiest part to die IMO.
*
Haha...Tight budget. The i7 from where u know i know lar, so to them it's small matter only.
I think most probably will end up getting the Vantec 550w True Power.
Thats the only one which fits in the budget and yet has true power, no worries, anything go back find Jack Kor Kor.

QUOTE(AceCombat @ May 14 2009, 01:49 AM)
u can find a used NoiseTaker 600W for below rm200 i think.
this psu CONFIRMED booted and stable with i7 920 @4ghz with Rampage II and 4 HDD ,2 ODD and a GTX260.

Haha, yaya i know.
But no wrty... sad.gif
This one setup for my friend, later burn or anything happen, i ki siao...

QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ May 14 2009, 02:04 AM)

Honestly if it's my own rig, i would have got a UT for it.
But since this is for a friend who will use it mostly for OFFICE work...doh.gif...I guess the cheapo Giga DS3R will be good enough.

QUOTE(cschun86 @ May 19 2009, 10:38 AM)

Haha, be patient. When u just started working, that's how it's like.
We've all been there before.
Few years down the road, budget ain't an issue anymore, and time for ur games and ocing will come...
Another express way, find a rich BF and u can game whole day, OC whole day and yet not worry about the $$$ factor...tongue.gif

owikh, the corrosion you mentioned will have to have 2 metals involved, am i correct?
I mean in this case, corrosion would not have caused a crack right?

And it comes with 2 years warranty right?

If it were the tubings, possible to replace them with tygons?

Anyway, the 1 thing i would like to know is crack on which part on the H50? The box? laugh.gif

This is the right place to ask, no worries...

For enclosures, Sarotech will be my first choice.

The 2333 is also sweet, but more expensive if I`m not mistaken.

Btw AOC vs Samsung? Of course Samsung is better...
*
Not in all cases.
Samsung LCDs, like it's TVs, the qualities between batches can vary a lot.
The main thing for an LCD is the panel, which in this case, a lot of Samsung LCDs u see actually do not use Samsung Panels. (I learnt about this when chatting with an LCD Panel Vendor.)

There are multiple grades when it comes to these panels. So for the normal entry models, i think even the manufacturers, be it Samsung, BenQ, LG, Dell could not keep track of what panels they're using in that particular batch. Whoever can offer the best price will be used. It's more or less luck if you get a good unit or not i'd say.

Don't wanna go wrong, always choose the higher end models... thumbup.gif

399 for a 23'' full hd lcd is dirt cheeeeeap. See if there's any light 'bleeding' when it's displaying all black. That's a good start for rating this display
*
For 399 even with some backlight bleeding also it's still damn cheap.

Higher end means, Ultrasharp series and above... biggrin.gif Oh ya, and also 24" and above, and also the 20" Ultrasharp Non WS. The 22" US is not High end as that uses TN Panels.

Btw, i see Moderno selling something from Coolit called the Domino ALC.
How does this fare against the Corsair we were talking about earlier?
The price is below Rm400... brows.gif

-no need too high storage.

please suggest me buy from the comming pc fair(which shop), or not in pc fair(which shop)
*
i7 920
DFI X58 DK
ATI Radeon 4870/4890
PSU, get something true power in the range of 600w.
Other than that, should be pretty bread and butter stuff already which makes not much of a difference.

Btw, if you need to know which shop to go to, it's either the POC Thread always recommended Precess(Formerly also known as Pristine Wireless), or GZ/Swisspac.
These few shops offers different stuffs at different kind of prices.
Just take some time, go down to BJ and have a spin. Drop by Precess, talk to Jack Kor Kor and see what can he find you.

Omega93, why not consider the Dell S2309w?

Hi there, the specs which i calculated might actually sweep the whole thing out of budget... laugh.gif
I just realised it. (i gave it based on a friend's specs which i help assemble but forgotten we did not need to buy an i7 920 as he already had one)

How much is the MSI X58 Pro-E? If it's close to 1k, i would say go ahead and get the DFI X58 DK for almost the same price.

As for the Graphic card, a 9500GT will barely be enough if you have serious gaming in mind.
Go for this: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1078977

And the E-View PSU, avoid it i would say. Stick to the more reputable brands like Enermax, Corsair, AcBel...Coolermaster Real Powers and some thermaltakes ain't bad too.

The other stuff are ok.

QUOTE(lichyetan @ Aug 5 2009, 05:33 PM)
jack kor kor working in precess.

I usually go to Swisspac, though their things are expensive, around RM30/50 extra compare to others, do note that sometimes their item are cheaper than other shop. And most important, they cover full warranty for certain item, such as ASUS or Intel, 3 years means 3 years, no extra charges will needed. Not like some other shop which cover only 1 year, rest we need to pay handling fees, eg PC Depot.

GZ offer lot of variety items, I also do shop there, but never dealt warranty with them before as things I bought from there all seems so far so good. But for swisspac, I do settle RMA issue with them few times, they really handle it without any charges after 1 year, but some item do takes time to claim and some are really fast, I guess they sometimes also accumulate some other warranty parts before sending out for RMA.

*
Haha, both shops are equally good. To me, it's easier to deal with Jack as i've been dealing multiple times with him, just drop him a call, ask him to quote me price and order. Then pick up the stuff when it arrives. I dun have such privilege in Swisspac or GZ. The worst part, most of the time, GZ staff are LCLY...(Cschun...sorry ya...if you read this, please feedback to GZ higher management pls) They have not been helpful, and a lot of the times, provide wrong info about the products they're selling.

Powerslide, so long din hear from u liao...Welcome back my bro...we missed u bad...now AceMeiMei has her company back... laugh.gif

Bought a brand new DFI UT X58 mobo from him. Said receipt wil  be provided under the name of RobynCom but in the end no receipt. Then I asked for receipt he agreed to get a receipt from Distro. I said it's kinda urgent WTF he claimed to hv sent it by normal post until now not getting any shit from him. I was totally pissed off. Last time I send dead Asus P6T mobo for RMA he charged me RM200 for replacement for what he said scratches on the board. WTF waste lots of my money.
*
Bro, you're not the only one.
The 1st POC member who got into an issue with him was sonicscourge.
Kvm sent a mobo which we highly suspect is used to him and claimed that it was new.
And yes, no receipt was given, when asked he said already sent via post.
End up only sent a softcopy which is so blur that you can't see a thing.
That was quite some time ago, thought no one would have dealt with him again after that incident.
Thank god nothing happened to the mobo, but again, u paid for the price of a new one, get a used one with a used backplate summore, what do you feel?

Seems like he just doesn't learn from all the sour deals, wonder why people just don't dispute him.

Btw, if you have issues with DFI RMA, try talk to Bryanyeo87, he might be able to help out.

saw the review, nothing too spectacular as far as GTX295 is compared. I thought it would have blown the GTX295 away, but guess not quite. but of coz, for those who are thinking of upgrading their GC from the single core gpu, 5870 is da bomb atm
*
Haha...but i think the HD5870 is substantially cheaper than the GTX295 right?
But to be honest, the HD5870 performances at high resolution is kinda dissapointing.

Maybe ATI's just keeping their best for their HD5890...(will there be one?)

QUOTE(fr0sti3 @ Sep 24 2009, 09:51 AM)

slightly better than 4890, but dunno how's the load temps like
since my 4890 in matx is topping 95c ++ on vram

The 5850 is a ncie card, being priced below RM1k, and beats the GTX285 in most of the test i've seen.
Btw, if you're using MATX, i think it'd be better if you get some serious cooling for the card, u won't want these monsters to choke due to heat.
Or easier still, run naked...or get a bigger casing like mine!!!...tongue.gif
