OkOk

Since some of u bought Crucial Ballistik ram from by lowyat seller where international warranty apply.

My case;

My Crucial Ballistik Ram(bling bling) 1066Mhz finally die on me.

Since i bought from sHawty,i pm him on 20 Oct morning 8:42am regarding the RMA.
I wait until the next day morning passing the 24hour....still tak ada pm

So, i try my luck RMA thru Crucial Website on 21 Oct morning and since i was a bit pissed off...lator the afternoon i posted my request again on this sales thread at 4:33pm,Post #229

the link
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/744220/+220

Guess what,15min lator i receive his reply thru pm....on RMA and the cost, and forgetting to include the address as well.
I didn't reply immediately since i have make the RMA request on Crucial Website.

Fast forward few day, still no answer from Crucial Website...
guess at that time, really no choice but have to fork out RM60 for RMA service thru Shawty although i think it pretty silly to pay and still wait for more than a month plus as what Mr Lonely inquiry,Post#232

the link
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/744220/+220

I request for sHawty address as i was prepared to send to him on 24 Oct 9:01am and only get the reply at nite 8:22pm which is fine by me.

However,Crucial approve my RMA the next day,25 Oct...which is a surprise.

Checking online Pos Office if i were to Pos Laju to USA will cost me RM70 plus which will arrived within 2 to 3 days since Crucial reply below;

"Thank you for contacting us. Please write your RMA number on the outside of your package and return the product to Crucial Technology within 10 business days"
[COLOR=blue]

Anyway i decide to choose the most cheapest way,Pos Malaysia Registered which only cost me less than RM10(maybe RM20) without insurance but take 10 to 15 working days..

Budget very tight mah.

Stupid of me,i only posted it on 30 Oct and i was really keeping my finger cross and prayed hard somehow it will arrived fast fast...hahaha

As expected,it have yet to arrive coz on 14 Nov,Crucial send a reminder;

"Thank you for your recent inquiry. According to our records, we have not yet received your return. If you still would like to return the product, please do so within the next 10 business days or your return merchandise authorization (RMA) number will be canceled."

Quickly,i call up Pos Office helpline and the only thing that they can tell me..it is on the USPS side now.

So,i reply immediately to Crucial stating please wait as the RMA is on the way...hehehe

it did finally reach Crucial finally 20Nov
"We're writing to let you know that on November 19, 2008, our RMA lab
received your returned product under RMA #40869412.
Your RMA is now being processed as you requested."

The next day Crucial send my replacement;
"Great news! Your Crucial memory order is packaged and ready to ship by
UPS International P1 Express Saver. To check on the status of your shipment, click on
the link below. You must reference your order number when checking on
the status of your shipment"

SO guys,
it seem in my case i can do Crucial Ballistk myself as u can see how good is the Crucial Customer Service.

i taken a risk by using the cheapest method but as u can see we are still able to receive replacement within a month at RM10 or maybe rm20 only.

But i bet if u willing to pay RM70plus,u can get it with 2 week.

So i say here, paying Shawty RM60 for RMA and still wait for one month plus is totally unacceptable.

I posted here just to let everyone know..that there is still alternative.

Latest Update;
Got my replacement RAM yesterday.
(Delivery within 3 working days)
[COLOR=blue]

Super Fast Service from Crucial Technology USA[COLOR=blue] but THUMB DOWN for our so-call Crucial Reseller on RMA service if they are charging u premium price and the delivery is still more than one month[COLOR=red].

Nope,
we only bear the cost when sending to them.
They only bear the return cost as stated in their email.

"This RMA has been set up as a wait-to-receive, which means we wait to receive the module from you before we send out the replacement. There will be no debits or credits involved with this exchange method. If you would like the cross-ship method, please contact us at (800) 336-8896. If you choose the cross-ship method, we will ship your replacement order if you agree to have the purchase charged to your credit card (if applicable) at the time of shipment. When Crucial receives the returned product, we'll issue you a credit in 7-10 days."[SIZE=7][COLOR=red]

It's Really Cheap

Added on November 23, 2008, 9:40 amPlease dpn't throw away the original packaging if possible but it is still possible to send using other method as stated in the reply

"Please return the product to Crucial and package each piece individually in an antistatic bag(s) or place appropriately in the slots of ESD tray(s) and ship in any sturdy box. Please include a copy of this email with the contents of the package. Please follow this process so that the product does not receive any damage while being returned. Crucial will not be responsible for damage to an improperly packaged product. Please retain shipping information, including tracking numbers, until your account or original credit card has been credited by Crucial or until you receive a replacement product. If accessories are missing, $5 will be deducted from your refund."

if u really wan to get back the ram, using pos laju international might be the safest way but at rm70 plus.

not sure whether Pos Malaysia have insurance for Registered Mail...as i forgot about that.
i didn't bother at that time coz who would wan defective Ram,right?

anyway i am waiting for my ram to arrive

Please reread my posting before making any comment.
i am not cristisizing anyone here but in fact i am pointing out that if our so-call safe trader are sitting on their RMA request but doing sales very happy..

Please see the rest of frusted RMA buyer who buy from shawty before...
u know what i meant....

QUOTE(ndgoh @ Nov 28 2008, 11:54 AM)
I dont know Shawty personally and I dont even know how he looks like... But to for you to SIMPLY criticize him like this without looking at all angle is just plain IGNORANT.

I must say, with that kind of SARCASTIC comment, you have never do any business before in your whole life... It is ok to suggest an alternative way to do things it is very nice of you... but to compare Shawty's service to Crucial is... difficult la...

Anyway, to deal with a local online reseller, you must know the terms and conditions... You must understand what you are getting into... else dont bother buying from any of this online reseller... Dont even bother to click on their threads...

It is a known fact that ALL ITEMS THAT DO NOT HAVE A LOCAL DISTRO...  either you can claim yourself or you ask the reseller to claim on behalf of you la... (POSTAGE BUYER BEAR... tis their term. Dont agree to this term, DONT BUY LA....)

If they claim for you, they dont charge a so call "PREMIUM"... just a very small handling charge. They use courier service with insurance and why they can get it at RM60 (POSLAJU without insurance its RM70) only becoz they are longterm customer of that courier service ma...  This is the only way for a business to be done properly, else items missing how? In business, nobody in the correct mind will handle RMA using normal registered post without insurance ... you even risk your claim being rejected due to the slow delivery time. You think the whole world waits for you? Not everyday you get LUCKY...
Anyway, its a good experience sharing from TS and pls do understand the risk involved as well, else, somebody may comeback in few months time and SCOLD TS for suggesting this method coz item might be missing or claims REJECTED as it does not comply with Crucial's term on RMA which states MUST ARRIVE within 10 working days...  tongue.gif

If lots of RMA items arrive in Crucial's RMA centre LATER than 10days from notice, what do you think they'll do? You think they handle only 10-20 RMA a day arr? They RESERVED the right to REJECT your claim...  sweat.gif

bro itanium,

i know shawty is a good seller...and honest person..

what i am trying say...if u in this kind of business......service also very important....u might not have any problem with him now....

i talking what about people like us...the little people.....who support him earlier...
Doing any business is not easy which is why i rather be the buyer only ..

At less, have a decent follow-up service like RMA...as it is also the your further regular buyer as well..

When shawty started to do the crucial ram business,i even a little buyer bought 2GB set of 1066 bling bling,1GB set of bling bling and 2GB normal crucial..

Service at that time,,no complain...

I am not pointing finger at Shawty but telling...hey man!! you could have done better in RMA department..

BUt at this moment,no matter what his excuse is....he failed miserbly(at this moment lah) in RMA issue...

U can check the post here and in Shawty post regarding RMA their customer Ram take such a long time...more than a month.

i am pointing out a fact here than i can do RMA myself(cheapest way) and still within a month..

Using courier definitely will be faster,u should get your stuff with 7 working days ...i estimate. icon_rolleyes.gif

So i am pointing out what is happening which u are overlooking the statement that i am trying to imply.

If u still think it is ok to wait for more than a month for RMA and yet paying RM60 thru him....then go ahead..be my guest..
with the Rm60,u can in fact do ram yourself and delievr will be straight to u...

Not like now...

Pay RM60 to shawty, poslaju to shawty and then shawty RMA....wait for one month(if it come lah)...and poslaju back to u..
instead of doing yourself.....fill up RMA online at Crucial USA...wait for RMA number(SHawty doing the same thing as well)....then poslaju rm60 straight to USA Crucial, within 3 working day(estd)...then reply from Crucial,(Crucial send back the replacement and should arrived within 3 working days straight to your place....all should be within 7 working days estd..

So, u do the math, bro itanium?

I just stated my fact...that is all.....

QUOTE(itanium @ Dec 1 2008, 07:49 PM)
I previously bought 16gb worth of crucial ram from shawty and personally i think he is an honest person making an honest living on LYN.
To TS, mr shawty doesnt manufacture the rams, neither does the other few who have sold similar crucial rams... so pointing your lil fingers at shawty just bcoz you bought from him and had bad luck being the rams failed on you is a bit low-blow. If you [ersonally think its so easy, i would very much like to see YOU bringing in some and sell to forummers and experience the same issue when the rams starts failing.

this is what i dreaded the most...

Sell and go Missing.....

if international warranty apply, then try to RMA online.

nowadays.
it seem so call reliable seller really give you headaches on RMA issue although i understand it is beyond their control.
if given no choice,i will try to buy stuff from seller where international warranty apply as it is your backup in case seller go MIA..

As for other item no matter how cheap(like motherboard, graphic card),it better to get from local trusted seller as u can RMA yourself easily to the shop or distributor.

Please read again my posting before jumping to conclusion that i am the one to blame...

i just pointed out my experience...that all...

At less....i have a solution here, a viable solution....

At less....u deal directly with Corsair and they will RMA back the RAM to u directly instead...and shorter time lagi..

My Experience once u apply RMA online...it take about 5 days to receive the RMA number.....then cepat cepat hantar if go for economy method thru pos office..

What make me post this thread is becoz what happen to "Mr Lonely" case...which I happen to come across which indirectly make me very worry about RMA thru u..

if i did ever "curse" you??? ....then my deepest apologies...!!!!

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jan 5 2009, 03:04 AM)
Wow, I can't believe just how smart threadstarter are cursing me for many things.
Guys, I have a life, I have my little brothers to take care off, I have a sick mum whose she just had a mild stroke and has been in and out of the hospital for a lot of times in this year because she can't remember things perfectly. Why? Because the doctor told me Oxygen can't reach some part of her brain. You think I sit infront of the PC 24/7/365 doing nothing at all? I have a life guys. I have a life.

Go to Hospital Universiti in PJ and check for Azmah Binti Yusof | IC Number 570520-03-6344, then you'll know just how many times I had to take her to the hospital in year 2007 & 2008 alone. She even go through one major surgery to remove a tumor in her head.
When she's in the hospital, I had to take care of her, I have to sleep there, and when I'm there, I have absolutely no access to the internet. Why? Because when she's lying on the bed sick, I can't leave her alone and take a few minutes to go to the nearest CC to check for internet. My mum is the most important thing in my life, what if she took the last breath & died when I wasn't beside her? What does that make me? That's why I can't leave her alone even for a minute.

Still don't believe me? Ask almostthere & empire23, these two knows the condition of my mum and they know that I'm not lying.

I may be a little slow in replying and I'm sorry for that. I'm really sorry, but please understand that I didn't purposely being slow in replying your PM.

About the charges, hey, you think I'm using Pos Malaysia Registered Parcel?
Just like what ndgoh said, I'm using courier. I'm not using some al-cheapo courier like Pos Malaysia Registered Parcel. Pos Malaysia Registered Parcel ain't warrantied and there's no insurance on your item. If you want me to use Registered Post, fine by me, but whose to be blamed when the item is lost?
I'm using Fedex International Priority which costs RM170 just to send one kit for RMA. You pay RM60 and I pay RM110.
Fedex International Priority costs a bundle because their priority is for the item to arrive in 2 ~ 4 working days. That's why it's expensive.

Even Poslaju International can only promise that the item will arrive the desination in 5 working days. I've tried using their service once, but the shipment took 10 days to arrive the destination, and from that moment on, I've stopped myself from using Poslaju International.

Do take note that I'm dealing directly with Crucial HQ in USA, not the local distributor. That's why there are RMA charges.
Before my mum got sick and couldn't take care of herself, ask a few other customers who RMA'ed their Crucial rams with me, they got their rams back within not more than 2 weeks. Longest is 3 weeks. A few of them even got their ram(s) back in one week.

If I'm dealing with local distributor, there won't be any charges in RMA.
But there's a reason why I'm not dealing with Crucial Local Distributor which is Conv*****ce SDN BHD. It's because the cost price they gave to me is the selling price I gave to you. If I do that, then the selling price will be higher.
This is why I choose to deal directly with Crucial and not with local distributor. It's because the cost price Crucial gave to me is a lot cheaper than the cost price the Local Distributor gave me.

And to a few who had to wait for more than a month before getting a new replacement ram back, You think I purposely delay the shipment of your rams? Please understand, It's not me whose being delaying the shipment of new replacement ram(s), it's Crucial.
Their main office [RMA, Sales, Marketing and whatever department] is in USA, however, the factory producing the rams is still in Taiwan.
They don't produce all type of rams everyday. Each type of ram where produce in one batch after another. One batch means 2 weeks to 1 month of production.
Sometime, the replacement rams is out of stock, so they had to wait for the new batch to be produced, this is what causing the delay of RMA, not me.
It's fully beyond my control. There's a few models of rams that has been stopped from production. To replace your ram, they had to reproduced a new batch of ram same as the model you sent for RMA. And when this happen, this is the other cause of delay.

Another cause of delay is Crucial being late in replying emails regarding RMA, the RMA number is the most important thing, and when they delayed in replying emails, all I could do is email them again & again & again until they reply.

I know you got replies and your replacement ram faster than me this time, but that doesn't mean you will always be that lucky and that also doesn't mean I always get these delays. Most of the time I got a reply from Crucial in less than 24 hours.

Yes some of the forumers are frustated because of the delayes, and to whom it may concern, I'm really sorry for the delay.
However, most of the customers who sent their rams for RMA were satisfied with my fast service and most of them got their rams in less than 2 weeks.

To Bliz, try asking Fedex about how much in RM will they charge to send one kit of ram using Fedex International Priority. You'll be surprised.
You think I want to cut corners & get profits in RMA'ing the rams? Grow up dude.

Another thing, Even how busy I am, I never run from my responsibility, I try to settle everything as soon as possible.
I even RMA'ed some Crucial rams that were originally bought from other Crucial resellers such as kingmaker_20, duo8668 & kvmcom.
Some of these guys were so late in replying PM regarding Crucial RMA and some of them didn't even bother to reply any PM at all. One of them even told their customers to RMA by themselves. One of them also said he'll have to collect 3 kits before sending them for RMA.
When these poor buyers came to me to asking for help to RMA their ram(s), I settled it as fast as I could.
For example, Siong who works under ngbh AKA LPS Technology, he sent a kit of Crucial 10th Anniversary which were originally bought from kvmcom & then later on he received a new kit of Crucial 10th Anniversary in 2 weeks. don't believe me? Go to LPS Center in SS15 Subang Jaya & ask him by yourself. Yes I know the example is only 1 because I can't remember all of them. If I could recall any of them again, I will personally ask them and ask them to write in here either did they or or did they not receive a new replacement ram in 2 weeks & I will also ask them to write in here that their Crucial ram were originally bought from who and did I or did I not help them in RMA'ing their ram(s).

To ndgoh & itanium, thank you so much in understanding my situation.

This will be my one and only post in this thread. Curse all you like, but before you do that, try being a Crucial reseller yourself and then you'll see that you can't protect yourself from a few delay caused by Crucial.

PS: Pardon me for my bad english.
