correct me if im wrong....
client server os... its smthing like having a small or basic minimum power pc... maybe a thinclient... just enough power to run a remote desktop back to a server... all the programs and processing need will be done in the server itself... therefore u will have easy maintaining client pc as when a pc giv problem just swap with another 1 as there will be no data stored in the pc or thinclient... data security as there will be no data transfer between server to client. the only data transfer is keyboard/mouse movement plus the screen image only. |

A thin client. Last time there was network pcs with bare minimum specs but it was a failure. However, the current climate is different. With virtualization getting trendy, it may be popularise yet again.

my experience on terminal... pls get a super great powerful server..
my current environment... HP DL380 with QC with 4GB all for approx 20 users... each user open excel files about 10 files at the same time. it was all ok... but the most resource eating is microsoft outlook... even with the database stored in other server... damnn.... |

correct me if im wrong, im not reli sure abt this oso
its more like ghosting or wat i forgot.. let say you hav 1 server and 20 client pc. 1 server- install softwares that is going to be used by client 20 client pc, just install OS and use the softwares from server advantage - save time, nonid to install softwares on each of client pc. again i stress here, im not really sure abt this thing just say out coz maybe its right =x This post has been edited by ruffaz: Nov 24 2008, 01:22 AM |
