QUOTE(coldfusionpower @ Nov 27 2008, 04:03 PM) haha .. my chika has a long tail but short face .. aiko has long face but short tail .. yuri have long face and long tail ... the joeys .. one follow moms attitude, one follow dads attitude .. Hello all Sugar Glider Friends!anyway, anyone here can give some comment on HPW mix ? mine dont want it lar ..any idea to make them eat those ? I guess everyone here is already experimenting the HPW diet.. Just bare in mind that if you're planning to switch their diet, do it step-by-step.. Usually matured adults are okay if you change it suddenly but some won't.. So for those, here is my suggestion: Mix their current diet with the new one. (Mix 70% of Suggie Smoothie with 30% of HPW) See if the dishes are clean the next day. (Means your gliders are eating) If it is clean, decrease the amount of the Smoothie and increase HPW. (60% of Smoothie and 40% of HPW) Do it slowly. Increase the amount of HPW until it is 100%. Hope this helps. Please take note that HPW is by far the most suitable diet for your glider I would suggest for you other than BML. It is proven to make your glider healthier, fat and less smelly. Make sure that to offer gliderade twice a week as part of their diet. And owh yeah, lotsa fresh fruits and veggies with mealies as treats.. Till we meet again... **These are just suggestions.. there are many techniques.. QUOTE(liyanaomar @ Dec 10 2008, 03:04 PM) guys, why is my joey keeps on 'poo-ing' everytime my bf hold him. y eh? its like if 5 mins he pegang joey, that whole 5 mins la die keep on poo on him! (pity my bf) how to make joey stop? n my pheobe have this bad habit now! everytime pegang, gigit! my finger and palm la especially. sakit woo.... she left me with bite marks everytime i hold her. how to train her to stop biting? (Matthew soh ketuk hidung her slowly as punishment. i did that! it doesnt work! lg ngamuk2 die... ) Dealing with sugar gliders are almost the same with little kids..I personally do not suggest any form of scolding or shouting kinda training.. The best way of training ever taught in the world is ' offering treats'.. Now how should I do it?? This is my suggestion: As for the 'poo-ing' glider - Put the glider on you (or your bf) and give some treats (mealies or yogurt drops). If the glider starts to 'poo-ing' non-stop, take back the treat and put the glider on a desk or something and let it finish its business first. Then continue putting the glider on you and repeat. Please take note that once in a while poo-ing is okay.. This is only if the glider is doing it non-stop. As for the biting glider - I've given so many ways to deal with bitting gliders through out this forum. When you say 'palm' up there, I wonder is it nibbling or bitting? There are too many concerns when dealing with bittings. Does your hand smells like fruits? Are you handling the glider too hard? If you're reading this, please PM me for further details and techniques on how to deal with these all. I prefer to teach through PM coz this open forum looks like a chat room already. Maybe you even skipped this. Thanks. |

QUOTE(Chinchillas @ Dec 11 2008, 11:33 AM) EH! Take with flash light! Sharper picture! Love those eyes, getting much toxic from glider now day. Sugar gliders are nocturnal animals. They have a blurry sight in bright places and very sharp eyes in the dark. Taking photos with flashes is the worst thing ever you could do to a glider. Even to a human eyes, it burns! |

We normally don't bring our gliders out to our normal gath/yamcha coz there will be smoke noise and yeah, the main point is for us to meet and have fun, not the gliders!

Ladies & Gentlemen,
Announcing that my gliders all love the yogurt drops! They are going crazy over it... Get yogurt drops for your glider as treats! This is the best treat ever I guess.. |

QUOTE(darksterz @ Jan 27 2009, 02:55 PM) Hye guys,i juz got my suggie couple days ago,her name is tinkerbell. Welcome to the world of gliders! But i got one problem,i noticed her sneezing, and the nose a lilttle bit [berair].(sorry dont know the word) Is there any problem with her, what to do,im so worried, please help me.... Another thing is how to serve HPW,i mix it with warw water and honey, but my tinkerbell seem do not even touch it at all.Does my method is wrong or is there any other way to serve HPW. About the sneezing glider, I'll briefly explain here.. Gliders do sneeze (some sneeze a lot), this is a way of cleaning themselves.. They sneeze when grooming.. so sneezing is actually normal.. But if the nose is watery like what you're mentioning, maybe your glider has a cold.. I would strongly suggest you to bring your glider to the vet a.s.a.p.. a non zoo-negara related vet that I highly suggest and trust is: HANDS "N" PAWS C-17G, Jalan PJU 1/45, Aman Suria Damansara, 47301 PJ Tel: 03-7804 6539 Please take note that non of us here are vets or expert in glider health. Any reply here is just a point of view of each person. Take your glider straight away to the vet if something suspicious happens. Waiting for replies here might be too late.. Good luck! About the diet: nothing is wrong with the way you're serving the HPW.. it's just maybe that your glider is just too new to it.. give him/her some time, she'll explore and will know the awesome great taste of HPW! QUOTE(huiyin_hsu @ Jan 27 2009, 03:40 PM) hey ppl, HPW is to replace the Uncle Taro's mix (smoothie).Dropped by Pet Shack the other day and Joan gave me a HPW sample packet (just mix honey+ water) Right now i am feeding Sugar with the Uncle Taro's mix but thinking of switching it to HPW (i feed him the sample packet at night). How often must i feed the HPW ? In the morning and at night? If i feed HPW, is the calcium intake sufficient? Because Sugar does not eat Mealworms and Boiled Chicken (He spits it out from his mix =( ) But he's on Wombaroo and Gliderade. Is that enough ? Oh ya. I feed him his daily fruits as well..(papaya, honeydew, apple, carrot, etc ) Thanks ^^ Feed once a day, usually during night.. Mealworm/chicken is not mainly to supply calcium to gliders.. they provide protein.. So if you're asking whether the protein in HPW enough for them, I'll say 100% yes! Gliderade is to be fed once or twice weekly. |

Welcome to the world of gliders!hehe...i got a big problem wiv my glider... he doesnt wanna eat....how? is like i put it in d cage then...he din touch oso... how r? Regarding your not-eating glider: 1. Maybe your glider is not hungry. 2. Are you giving the same food everytime? (what are you feding them?) 3. Try giving something sweet. Do not give sugar. 4. Check whether your glider is healthy or not. QUOTE(FishySashimi @ Feb 4 2009, 10:26 PM) Just now blend the HPW for my suggies.. Is it looks like orange colour? Yeah, orange in colour. Is is okay that suggies eat cold stuff? I personally don't feed them cold stuffs. I read in a blog saying you may feed cold stuffs but not frozen. It's up to you.. |

QUOTE(SugarCoatedCandy @ Feb 4 2009, 10:33 PM) The slurp i give is cold.. but not frozen.. i let it thaw a bit for like 30 mins then goes straight to the bowl.. But my suggie will take time to eat lah.. dunno how cold it is then >< i think should be ok kua.. You thaw the whole container everytime?hurm, I don't think that's a good idea.. Scrape out the portion you wanna feed from the container.. or better, get an ice tray.. QUOTE(apple_ylc @ Feb 4 2009, 10:40 PM) Hey don't la listen2 to people..Your glider is new to you.. So relax.. it maybe takes time.. Keep the diet simple.. As for now, just offer these: - fruits & veggies (other than apple such as papaya, mango, persimmon or carrot) - HPW or smoothie. QUOTE(darksterz @ Feb 5 2009, 01:05 AM) Help me!!!!!! Maybe she's a bit shocked with the new environment..My tinkie seem passive since I brought her to mlaka. Dont know why. QUOTE(FishySashimi @ Feb 5 2009, 10:54 AM) My ZaiZai doesn't like HPW.. Even I wipe the slurp all over his mouth.. He also doesn't bother.. What should I do? Use the injection thing to feed him? or mix with fruits? Relax, don't expect much..They already start eating apple when I brought them home.. I feed them fruits every night actually.. But just small amount.. Because they will not drink milk if they get too much fruits.. By the way, My ZaiZai and LuiLui often stay in one place and doesn't move for long time.. then keep stare at one spot like thinking something (sometimes stares at me).. No matter how to touch them.. they also won't move.. Is it normal? HPW is new to them.. So much things are new to them.. So don't stress them out.. Leave it for them to eat if they want.. Soon or later they will learn.. After all, they are still babies.. staring/stoning is normal.. no worries.. QUOTE(SugarCoatedCandy @ Feb 5 2009, 10:57 AM) Yea matte its definetly accident if you don't like your fingers being bitten, do not hand feed.. easy..Btw need to ask a question, my slurp now almost finishing.. but i wanna give her like variety.. can straight change to Uncle Taro's smoothie or not =x or must change slowly? next time just put those worms in a bowl or something.. gliders do know how to search/hunt for food.. it's their nature.. if you think hand feeding is a way of bonding, you may stop now.. there's so many other ways to bond.. I see hand feeding gives you a problem where you always complaint here.. so i guess better for you to not hand feed them anymore.. once the glider and you have that trust, then only you might wanna try hand feeding again. regarding changing in diet, here's a repost of mine: QUOTE Mix their current diet with the new one. Increase the amount of HPW until it is 100%. p/s - that's the case when you're changing smoothie to HPW where smoothie is the current diet and HPW is the new diet. Do apply the same technique to your case. |
