erm.. i guess the best way is to pass a note to her? write in a piece of paper then pass it to her..

Notes would not be advisable as girls would not normally respond to these methods. They would simply throw the note and laugh about it. If you are desperate enough to write a note to get to know her, it means you are FREAKING desperate.

its common to think that in m`sia culture... but have you actually tried? If you haven't don't be so quick to judge people. Some people will not respond to you, that's OK, go find someone who will respond lor.
You'll find that most people are quite sociable actually. Our generation are more "closed", especially those from the city. I noticed its easier talking to the older generation (sometimes they even talk to me first), or those from the kampung areas. Just my observation.
