QUOTE(sampoo @ Nov 24 2008, 02:02 PM) dun too concern about dividend. high dividend come from the high share price. to u check when the zelan at rm6, how much dividend it paid, definately high also right! Dividend rate have nothing to do with share price.Dividend Yield does(DY =dividend amount/current share price).Same go to maybank when rm10, dividend is rm500. u think at Rm5.00. it able to still paid rm500. |

For those who bought foreign shares through local brokers, are you aware that in most instances, your shares are kept under the broker's name in the foreign country?
What if the local and/or the foreign broker goes into financial distress? This is a concern to me and I believe this is a grey area under Malaysian laws. |

QUOTE(yang yang @ Nov 27 2008, 03:18 PM) anybody got clue why heavy selling? The heavy sell off is mainly due to:Added on November 27, 2008, 3:20 pmmaybe Resorts got toooooo much cash so wants to some cheap selling... ***Mega Sale **** 1.poor third Quarter performance, 2.buying over a company that specialises in the development, protection and commercialisation of gaming-related Patents.this acquisition does not go down well with investors partly because Uncle lim junior is the seller. |

There should be some selling on Genting today. But the 3Q loss is mainly due to write down on UK casino investments and should be one off.
BTS final testing tomorrow, will go live on Monday 1st Dec,at 8.30 am. This post has been edited by lklatmy: Nov 28 2008, 09:03 AM |

QUOTE(aurora97 @ Nov 28 2008, 10:23 AM) Well did mentioned earlier, at least they didnt do what Maybank did. They see it not viable to go forward they just chop and run at least u lose both legs (that is the deposit) and not arms legs and head like what happened to Maybank. IOI expects Citibank to sell it at 380m (from 580m now)later when Citibank cannot tahan anymore,so IOI will save in the end.( I believe thats a nod of approval by S/h on the decision making aspect (or devine intervention or market intervention).. Rm 73m is like rm 73 only if u lok at a company like IoI Added on November 28, 2008, 10:26 am i personally think its a fake, like the TM share... if the company is fundamentally gd (well not that gd but so-so) and with such a cash horde, the one with the most money and can hold the longest in this game. |

Now testing BTS in office,so far so good.No problem.
New feature for odd lots, can get matched partially,so be careful,if you ask your Remisier to sell 66 shares, you may end up selling 15 shares only and the proceed may not be enough to pay for the comm. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Nov 29 2008, 10:41 AM) So, confirm going live on next Monday? Yeah, barring some other unforseen happenings, the system should go live (99.9%) on Monday.Airasia's rumour privitisation price is Rm1.30, so at Rm1.1x currently, there is no incentive for people to goreng already. The investment strategy differ primary the intention in the first place whether one buy the forget about it and every year earn 6-7% dividend out of it, or want to trade daily. For PLC (political linked stock like MMC, Zelan, MRCB) especially those high 'flavour' of politic influence one, trade is always a better option, as those are not quite suitable for really long term. Just my opinon, and experience. If stuck at higher price in some good stocks while the stock still can sustain a high dividend yield like 2x FD rate, then not much worry at all. Airasia will be sold down heavily on Monday due to he huge loss in the last Q.(just my opinion,buy/sell at your own risk.) |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Dec 2 2008, 10:00 PM) To be precise, those are nominee account that using some current account/saving account that available on respective banks that carries interest for collateral on the nominee trading account, just they bundled it together. There are also some Investment banks and brokers that invest the excess money received from clients(regardless Nominee or direct CDS clients)into short-term money markets to earn interest, the interest earned is then given back to clients after deducting administration fees and a portion as IB's profit. As a guide, the current interest rate offered by my firm is 2.75 % pa but the base RM2000 will attract no interest. |

QUOTE(PBB boleh @ Dec 2 2008, 11:42 PM) Hm... this is getting out of hand better clear the air before people's hand get Burned/melted. YTL Power WB is American style, meaning you can exercise it anytime. The previous example applies ONLY if you are able to exercise the Warrant, which u can do so in...3478 day If you do intend to eventually take up the stock, the warrant is trading at a discount so I suppose it's a better choice. The Warrant is Very high risk as most of the senior forummers will tell u, stay away if are not able to stand the risk of losing or gaining 20-30% per day. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Dec 4 2008, 05:11 PM) BTS system come into work, somebody try or may be company buyback program, (I also don't know) to prop up the Genting share from 3.80 to 3.88 in split second before 4.45, but TCP come into work send it back down again to close at 3.78. I think the new BTS is still subject to manipulation.IOI is a case in point today, the counter was pushed up from RM3 to 3.16 just before 4.45pm and during the tcp determination(4.45pm to 4.50pm),there were still lots of buyer and seller at 3.16,but at trading at close phase(4.50 to 5 pm)there were not many trades at 3.16.I think those unseen forces have learned the trick to influence the TCP already, the buying will come in just before 4.45pm.then there will be lots of buyer and seller at the pushed up price during 4.45 to 4.50 to influence the TCP,the moment the clock is abt to tick at 4.50,the bulk of the buyer at the pushed up price will withdraw leaving very few buyers to be matched at 4.50pm.Thus the tcp will be set at the price desired by them. |
