WASHINGTON (AP) -- As the financial crisis was gaining force, Americans cut back on their spending in October by the largest amount since the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The Commerce Department reported Wednesday that consumer spending plunged by 1 percent last month, even worse than the 0.9 percent decline that had been expected. Personal incomes were up 0.3 percent last month, slightly better than the 0.1 percent gain analysts had expected.

Further to the Company announcement on 9 January 2008 with regard to the Proposed acquisition by KNM Group Berhad (KNM) of 100% equity interest in Ellimetal N.V. Belgium (Ellimetal) (Proposed Acquisition), the Board of Directors of the Company wishes to announce that the existing shareholders of Ellimetal and KNM had on 1st December 2008 signed a Mutual Termination Agreement, whereby the parties have inter alia, mutually agreed not to proceed with the Proposed Acquisition.

This announcement is dated 2nd December 2008.
