more like Rm 73 for IOI... pocket change

they just have to spin s/h money and they will get back rm 73 m from the market

i am more bullish abt IOI in the short term since they r going to have more money to spend in the short term rather than being tied down by a huge chunk of property.

Added on November 27, 2008, 8:42 pmthe lesson from here guys in whatever agreement that you sign make sure you have a get out cluase like due to financial crisis etc...

allowing your company to get out without havin to suffer a lost of significant amount of deposit ...

case study would be Maybank

Our Malaysians CEOs seem to catch some flu from Wall Street by repeating mistakes after mistakes.

A big sell down of their shares may be good for small investors to buy at bottom. hmm.gif

I'm thinking to buy ramunia. Will it like KNM. Drop to 0.3x then bounce up to 0.6x ? any comment?
*
Ramunia is losing money in last Q and the coming Q.

It is quite diff from KNM though both are in the same sector.

Short term trading, no comment.

I do not Think Junior Lim is Kiam Saip, he fairly rewards the CEO with very attractive pay package.

The cash pile in Resort and Asiatic are stand by emergency funds for Genting, just in case .

In a way, it is unfair to both resort and Asiatic minority shareholders.

I do not think FF like it very much ( the ways they are treated ).

The recent buy up of US companies are good indication of how cash piles could be used.

Malaysia’s economy expanded at a slower pace of 4.7% in the third quarter (Q3) compared with 6.7% in the second quarter (Q2) due to the sharp deterioration in the global economic and international financial environment.

Seems like we are doing all right, till now... rclxms.gif

It does not give a good indication of how our CEOs are doing.

Country likes Singapore tends to benefit from Malaysia poor managements.

The share has more upside than Genting group.

Well, IOI is climbing up to see bro Genting.

Genting is moving down to see his junior bro IOI.

They could meet somewhere in RM 3++.

Could me if I am wrong. biggrin.gif

I prefer to buy sold down stocks ( more or less penny now ) but they are still fundamental good though not very strong. I do check with analyst reports from time to time.

Why I prefer Penny Stocks ( with fundamentals ) for medium to long term ?

1) I can buy in bulk e,g 30,000 to 40,000 shares
2) using DCA is not a real problem
3) What comes down , would eventually go up one day
4) Stocks that have the chances to appreciate 50% to 100% in 6 months or 1 year time.

Stocks I still hold

1) KNM
2) Kinsteel
3) Huaan

Sold down stocks bought and sold

1) IOI
2) TM

My weakness is I tend to take profit if stocks surge 20% or more , instead of holding for long term.

Holding Power is the key to investments now.

For the purpose of sharing. Do not suggest you to buy.

Won't be that hard, I think (if don't spam too much for that particular thread)
Ok, just thought that a database thread (minus the spam) would be nice and convenient.  smile.gif

For example, if I want to find good dividend stocks, I have to practically browse and read through the whole "Good dividend thread" before I can come up with a list.....

Anyway, I have gained lots of information from this thread. V19 coming soon!  thumbup.gif

I notice that Bursa does put up some good stocks for special offers almost every week.

But next week, AA might not be good. Judge your own.

The sad thing is most forumers are happy with only 2sen profit in the short term.
. Again, I personally would disagree a 2sen profit expected from Resort World like the other forumers.

But I still respect their decisions, after all.

QUOTE(htt @ Nov 29 2008, 11:22 PM)
Think Air Asia spread themselves too wide too thin, after tune air want go tune hotel, later go tune money, if they successful in all think later they are going to tune water, tune oil or tune the country  tongue.gif The aggressive style of expansion is really admirable, but I think they need to come to to their basic, forget about other tunes now. Boost up the capital, reduce the gearing (lucky the debt is long term, still not that much pressure, but if they don't improve their gearing while they can, think new credit might just dry up), after all they still have strong cash flow and business model to fall back to.

Also Thai & Indo expansion doing them no favor, Thai unrest just hit them as hard (when they are about to turnaround, then unrest start...  blink.gif really suei company tongue.gif ), indo forever losing money (about to turnaround hit by Lehman Bros... haha... tongue.gif ).

Hopefully they no need to go tapao, as we can see improvement of MAS after AA surge, if they fail, then my share might just be a token for a more competitive air traffic in Malaysia. Anyway, hope they won't let us down...  rclxms.gif

Just my 2 cents.

Be happy, US also can up for 5 days without much reason biggrin.gif

I believe AA would be pravatalised and the Arabs ( like the case of Maxis ) would have a substantial stage.

What is the fair price ( a token ) to take private , I would not know. Just guessing.

Correct me if I am wrong.

DJ rally for 5 days... makes me worry when it will down, gonna hit hard...

Regarding dividend, hv a question...
if it mentioned single tier exempt dividend of 5% per ordinary share of RM0.10 each
how much dividend will it be for 1000 share?

Thanks

I would not buy AA.

But my friend, HTT is a long term investor in AA.

So just supply some of the possible solutions. hmm.gif

P/S: rumour that AA is connected to some tele boss.

A better way to invest in Plantation Stocks is to follow the old uncle way of investing. Just buy at your price and becomes forgetful of what you bought for the next 3 to 5 years.

Do not need to check the weather reports ( flooding, half the Indo sinks and so on ) on daily basis. cool2.gif

True, but for IOICORP, it's price is 150% compared to a month ago, shoot up from around RM2 to RM3 ady..... that's why I'm hoping it might drop a bit first before I get it....

You guys think IOICORP at RM3 is still a good buy? Or is there are stocks that are better?  hmm.gif

Perhaps they fire the CEO this time, so you could buy at below RM 2.00 hmm.gif

Maybe is strategy different . For you maybe following hot tips.

Where as my strategy is " i will buy at the price i feel comfortable with"

Before i bought YTL POwer i am waiting it to drop too if not i won buy...

NO need to force yourself to buy any stock if you not comfortable with the price....Must learn to be patient biggrin.gif

Actually my NEXT target  price for ytl power  is RM 1.50 which means if at the price i will buy some more.

I will never pray ytl power will not drop. that is never my strategy

Added on November 30, 2008, 8:33 pm

Agree  nod.gif Actually i am waiting for KLCI to reach 700 point or even lower.  tongue.gif The counter that i am waiting them to drops are just too stubborn like what you said so i only can stay at sidelines... i haven buy any stock for about 3 months already  sweat.gif

Even though i am confident with ytl power i always belive the risk is still there, so will try to diversify to other portfolio but so far not any counter reach my target yet. So far only axreit almost reaching my target price

AXREIT - RM 1.10 and below
Genting target price RM 2.50 or lower then i am willing to buy
IOI AND ASIATIC RM 2.00 OR below
Resorts RM 2.00
*
Hope you keep your words, do not buy any shares if CI is above 700 pts or stocks not reaching your buy target. biggrin.gif notworthy.gif

happy waiting. thumbup.gif
