I once brought my old Xbox to NZ. No problem, in fact the airport guy was like "cool, you got an Xbox!"

Is it me, or my gf was way more than lucky?

Coming back from Aussie the kastam said "Ah those who want to get their things check, come to the left lane". She went right. Didn't get halted. I was dumbstruck.

Sometimes, you just need to walk nonchalantly to the green lane. Easy as that.

yeah lord_ashe is right...

customs officials suck because they have waaaaayyyyy to much power, your electronics that you got as a gift, taxed because they say so. The electronics that you brought from your homeland and bringing it back taxed because they say so...

in fact i remember one time a guy brought back a gaming PC, was not taxed...but the customs officials taxed the cables shakehead.gif....

I loathe the customs officials here because of the taxation on good, cmon man even cloth is taxed....wtf...customs in my opinion should be there to stop harmful goods from coming in like guns and drugs...but consumer goods should be not be touched because...since the consumer already paid for it...

usually there's nothing to be declared.. unless you bring in weapons, plants, etc.. but customs will randomly pick person to check the luggage.. so, it depends on your luck.. for console and handheld, there should be no tax. i have brought in PS3 to europe 2 times, not once have been taxed.

but i heard that you will be taxed if your console is still in box and brand new

aiyaaa you. think logic common sense laa... takkanlah derang nak check one by one u beli ke tak, dalam beg nanti penuh dgn resit saja... kalau bawak ipod 80gb? beribu lagu dalam tu? nak check? bape hari ko kat kastam? 2 bulan? aiyaaa.... doh.gif

and about put where, put wherever u want to put lah.. as long as u can put. that kind of question pon ada. doh.gif

the only concern is the box.. dont bring the box, and u're safe..
if u bring box, when u came back to malaysia later, custom might tax u since they maybe think that u bought that xbox from indonesia. kenapa nak susahkan diri nak menjawab nanti, walhal ade je cara lain lebih senang. tu je pon.
