Greeting LowYatians smile.gif

I'm looking for recommended solution for Remote Desktop Application via the WAN (Internet) which I can access, control and monitor my home PC activities while I'm at work. I did some searching and found a few applications which work:
    1. Hamachi + VNCViewer (LAN)
    2. TightVNC
    3. Teamviewer
    4. MSTSC
    5. .....
I'm wondering which application or solution would be better to be implemented? Or perhaps there is other better ones? I'm not sure how to setup the MSTSC to get it work sweat.gif

Replies will be appreciated notworthy.gif

I use it for my office servers. As long as i can do simple remote desktop. No problems for me since its adequate enough.

I dont need alot of high end remote functions since i just want 2 do remote desktop.

That's the MSTSC which I mentioned, I haven't try it out and didn't know how to use it yet... sweat.gif

Only see a few played with Hamachi + VNC and Teamviewer.

Icic... but I'm not sure how to get it connected. Do I need to specific the IP as well? My house is on Streamyx, so I couldn't control on what IP which I may get unsure.gif

For MSTSC, if you are behind a router, you'll need to set up port forwarding on port 3389. And since Screamyx hands out dynamic IPs, you might want to register at dyndns.org or some other dynamic DNS provider and get a domain name pointed to your comp at <name>.dyndns.org. Couple that with the dyndns service on your comp, and it'll always point to your current IP, no matter how many times it changes.

Your home PC just needs XP Pro and above for it to function. You might need to configure whatever firewall/antivirus you have for it to run.
