Is the fan for my OCZ vendetta2 facing the right direction? I think it should be oriented the other way around.
When I put my hand in front of the fan, I can feel the wind is blowing into my hand! The heat sink is hot

Should I turn the fan around so that the wind is blowing into the heat sink (the fins)?

Idling temp is 45 43 38 39
Load temp is 66 63 59 59

u should change the direction at all

Fan should blow into the heatsink..
once the hot air flows out of the heatsink, your casing fan/PSU fan will do their job getting it out of the casing..

ur fan position wrong lar... it the other way rite now the fan pull out the heat from the hsf but the air no where to go...

u should change the fan orientation

haha bro ur fans is facing outward (pull config)
turn it around so it blows the air to ur cooler

in my opinion..you want take fresh air outside case to cool down your cooler..but where hot air to come out?

Now the fan blows air into the fin

The temperature drops by 5C for idling temp and 9C for loading temp!

Idling temp : 40 38 34 34
Load temp : 57 55 50 50

previously was

Idling temp : 45 43 38 39
Load temp : 66 63 59 59



Is my temperature for my Q6600 (with vendetta2 sink at stock speed) normal? Is it still a little high?

Dude..its like u are trying to create a vacuum area around the fins..put it another way around..

both cpu and exhaust pulling each other

ur temp is with air con on??(means low ambient temp)

Here is a picture of the air flows in my comp.
I have 2 Cooler master 90CFM fan at the front and back.
The air is sucks into the casing -> Vendetta2 sucks air into the fins -> Back Fan sucks air out of casing

i think ur airflow in ur casing is corect already.... if ur casing sidepanel have a fan, adjust that fan to make it as exhaust fan too.... it cud help a lil actually to take away the hot air from GC....

try manage ur cable better by hiding those cable behind the casing......

slow startup on vista?? did u try dis trick before???:

click Start.below 'All Programs' there theres smtg like a text box rite(written there 'start search'). at there, u go type msconfig den hit ENTER key.when promp for permission, click 'Continue'. Then, 'system configuration' window come out. u can see 'General', 'Boot', 'Services', 'Startup' and 'Tools' tab. u click 'Boot'. there u can see 'Microsoft Windows Vista ....' highlighted. den u click 'Advanced Options'. den u can see 'BOOT Advanced Options' window. inside there u go tick the 'Number of processors' checkbox.den it will unlock the options for u to choose the numbers. Since u're using Q6600, choose '4'. Click OK. if prompt u to restart pc. go ahead. see whether can shave off abit of ur boot up time or not. i tried and it works.

Good Set Up

All Q6600 is able to do 3ghz without issue,just put 333x9 5:6 divider and test it with ibt,should be ok.
3.2ghz+ is where the challenge

3ghz also stock vcore so heat increase is not that bad lor

some ppl wif Q6600 need bump a little bit on vcore to achieve 3ghz especially on newer batches. for TS case, temperature already quite high, if bump up vcore, its not good for temperature. i think bump up FSB the highest as possible to pass 100 IBT runs(50 is not enuf since i get random crashes in games once in a blue moon) without hving increasing vcore is a better solution.

are u sure? how much mem u used to test the ibt?

passing 50 test shud be very stable already wor...

i pass 10 rounds of linpack already can fold 24/7
