i can't really confirm which looks better, but i just read about native resolutions and stuff (late..i know) and realizing that pv80 has a native of 720p, you mean all this time i have been watching 1080p movies 'down-converted' to align with the native?

well..from articles i read, they say there's not really much visible loss of detail (unless you have eagle eyes).

so my question is, when i play movies my tv displays the input resolution. so it just displays it as info la right?

if this is the case, then i'd say i'm pretty much impressed with my pv80 then. cos it still looks sharp and i love the black levels.  nod.gif

if it is anything like the sony 32s400a,selecting 720p will make the fonts look a hell of a lot bigger sweat.gif
eventhough my s400a is only 720p capable, selecting 1080p DOES make a noticeable difference in games.

blu rays play the same,i think(dont remember trying blu ray movies)

but whatever it is,if the tv is not full hd,then it can at best accept 1080p signals and downgrade them to 720p when it comes to actually displaying it(despite the fact that it says 1080p in the info rclxub.gif )
