Getting Started

Pretty soon, yet another country will be able to purchase an iPhone 3G. A newly signed deal between Apple and True Move will have the iPhone 3G in Thailand in “the coming months” but as of now no specific launch date has been announced. Actually, at this time, other than the announcement of the deal, True Move has not given many details. Still unknown is any pricing as well as any information regarding calling and data plans. True Move is currently Thailand’s third largest mobile carrier, however their larger rival Advanced Info Service is still in talks and trying to secure a deal of their own. Sounds like a race to be first. But sadly for Thai customers, a 3G network is still reported as being in the testing stage and users will be limited in EDGE and GPRS connectivity. http://www.iphonefreak.com/2008/11/true-mo...o-thailand.html

When I see so many countries getting it, even countries I never heard of, and realized that we still don't have it, I knew the fault lies with our telcos.

waw..ORE(TrueMove) make a pretty step to get iPhone. Surely will get competition from AIS and DTAC. It doesn't like Singtel in Singapore conquer the whole Telco market. So, for Malaysian, even Malaysia doesnt launch, but still we can get it from our neighbour country. For me, I m satisfied better than order from Europe. Guys, don't think too much Malaysia get iPhone. Just make sure you get 1 and that's it. End Story.

there's no rules preventing that, it's just the profit pyramid that marred the plans of bringing it in.

Point is.."No money for me/us , no talk" to the theme of Malaysia Bole spirit.

I dunno how true is this news(most likely it's rubbish)... i had been staying in BKK for 1 year now... but all i can say is there is NO 3G network in Thailand till now. The government still havent officially awarded any 3G licenses to any operators.... eventhough most of the ppl in telco industry are saying should be in 2009(had been saying this since 2 years back that license will be out soon)... but i can see ppl from AIS,Dtac and TRUE are planning aggresively on 3G network deployment since Q2 2008.
if any operator will get 3G iphone, it will certainly be AIS which belongs to Temasek Group. just look at Globe in Philippines which also has the 3G iphone plan soon... Globe belongs to Singtel....
