My dad wanna get me either ipod touch or iphone for my bday!
I cant decide which to take.. Hes buying it in China,I'm afraid the phone will be in China setting and cant use in Malaysia!
Is tht true?
Plus I heard Malaysia cant use the 100% genuine Iphone rite? I mean need crack n stuff.. I use DiGi..

Buying in china? I think u will get a china-made iFone. In other words, u won't get an ORIGINAL iphone from apple (that means it is NOT an iphone) so dun worry about the other stuffs.

Btw who do u heard from? U should smack this guy head and slap him at the face. Y we cant use genuine iphone? We have to and must use genuine iphone then only we can activate it and use it, not to mention downloading apps from itunes. If everyone hear this n that, then open a thread to ask, we will have many threads asking about rumors.

Of course I know it is made from China but in China u cant get an Iphone dude.

Its only assemble in China but not sold there (officially). U can get HiPhone instead.

Added on November 16, 2008, 2:27 amno no matter hong kong or china they sure have Apple outlet like Malaysia just that our apple outlet here dun sell iphone only ipods . btw China still have their own fick own build iphone for sure this is marketing for lower range user pirated iphone also sold world wide la .....every original apple product have their registered code to register online at apple website. So is easy to identify which 1 is real or fich.

(TS don't scare buy China product all electronic product from world wide is manufacturer from China almost 99% of it)

officially they dont sell it yet... but like malaysia, of course there'll be an unofficially iphone sets.

i dont say china product are not good... in terms of officiallity... china dont have it yet....

and then it'll make sort of trouble such as activating it.... updating it to newer firmware and all...

this is what we are afraid of.... of coz u can unlock it by sim adapter or somesort... but honestly..... u wont get the satisfiying services as such method can do more harm than good.... (drop calls, no service connections, and even damage ur beloved iphone)

so... TS... do ur survey and let u decide how and wht u wanna buy...

of coz we all know most of the stuff is made from china now
but we were stating an official unlock set... we giving warning is TS gonna get an unlocked set or "HiPhone"
u cant blame us for saying china will sell the fake 1.. as u can see all those N95 etc,

as most of the members stated.. china dun have official unlock iPhone,
so u want TS bought it back and open another thread saying the sim card cannot use, or the bypass sim causing him call keep dropping?

eventhough iPhone is made in China, it's not listed for sale in China.
u can check the Apple site and look at the countries and the partnering telco that provides iPhone.
and to make things even worst, there are activations (and/or unlock) to be proceeded in conjunction with purchasing an iPhone through the official channel.
having an Apple Store / Reseller doesnt mean it will have an iPhone if the country isnt on the list. if the reseller happen to have the iPhone in its store then most probably they will face legal actions.

myb u can find iPhone there, but probably,
1. it's not direct from the factory, and no officially sold by the authorised seller. most probably the iPhone itself has travelled really far (Australia, NZ, or myb just as near as HK) and then they put it on their shop.
2. need to be unlocked using piggyback sim. and to make things worse, some even solder the piggyback to the iPhone board so it builds the perception that the iPhone is officially unlocked (while it isnt).

actually we here really respect mainland china technology, that they could even make an iPhone clone that's cosmetically 99% identical to the real deal (exterior only). so normally for people that havent researched that far bout it and blindly went to buy with intention to get the real iPhone, most probably he/she will get dissapointed in the end. it's expected if u r taking chance on dealing in a country that's known with clones of electronic products. no offense, but some people can't even distinguish between the fake or real iPhone. and end up coming to this thread and ask how to install applications, put music into it, etc etc, while in the hand is a clone. we r here just trying to help to the extend that we r able to. that's all.
