PUBLICDOMAINREGISTRY.COM (aka DIRECTI aka ResellerClub) is the Registrar and KawanHost is their Reseller. GoDaddy is the largest Registrar and DIRECTI is one of their closest competitors (top 10 if not mistaken).

Transfer to other registrar in future? Yes you can. But only after the 60 days ICANN has set.
In case of same Registrar (DIRECTI to DIRECTI) transfer, you have to ask me to "Move Services" to your new DIRECTI Reseller. It's FREE but your domain expiry remain the same of course.
EDITED: Actually you can do "Move Services" yourself. The above is true for companies who implement their own interface but don't have this "Move Services" function.

How the interface looks like? Login demo@kawanhost.com and password demo1234 at http://kawanhost.supersite.myorderbox.com, click "My Account".

There are only 2 Registrar in Malaysia according to this http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/accredited-list.html, namely IPXcess.com and Webnic.cc, so the rest I guess are Resellers or Sub-Resellers. Most domain sellers in Malaysia are Resellers and some of them could be under DIRECTI too. Other companies could have implemented their own Interface instead of the using default DIRECTI LogicBoxes interface which KawanHost is using. So you can't tell which Registrar they use from the interface.

PM me the domain, i'll check the whois to see if it's a DIRECTI domain.
Renew can be done only on the same company.
'Renew' at another company is called a Transfer (which includes renewing expiry date).

Basically, you need to get Auth Code, unlock domain, unhide privacy, and initiate a Transfer at KawanHost for you domain.
The Transfer will require your Auth Code/EPP Key/Domain Secret.
Your current domain seller have to do all these for you if you can't do it yourself via control panel.

Then an email will be sent to your Admin and Registrant email with a link for you to click on to approve. That's why you need to unhide privacy and make sure your the email is valid.

To those who missed this promo, don't worry, there are usually a few promos every year. I don't know when though, but will update as much as possible, especially it they are really good promos. We don't create the promos, but our Registrar does, we just channel the low prices to our customers.

To always get cheaper prices, Register/Renew/Transfer only during promo periods. You can renew your domains 2-3 year into the future and not wait until near expiry to renew. If you prefer renewing at the last minute, standard advise is to do it at least 1 month before expiry to avoid unforeseen problems.

Finally, what was promised during the price hike at end of Sept 2008 is becoming a reality. Starting on 5th of April, 2009 we will be launching Free DNS Service with every domain name purchased from KawanHost. DNS Service (Managed DNS) is currently priced at RM2/yr. Domain Forwarding and Email Forwarding prices remain at RM2/yr.

DNS Service is typically used for BlogSpot/Blogger Hosting using custom domain. WordPress has the same feature but it is not free. It is also required for using Google Apps where you can use GMail for Email Hosting.

No other charges for transferring out.
Prices will go up or down in future so the renewal is not guaranteed to be the same.
But you can register more than 1 year now at same price.
You HAVE to host with other site coz we don't have hosting yet.

Thanks. That's a good question.
All prices have to keep up with costs, marketing strategy, etc, which tend to increase every year.
So, it's not about 2nd year, it's about WHEN you buy it.
The prices now is promo prices for 1st year only. 2nd year will be normal price.

RM30/year for New/Renew/Transfer currently. You can register for up to 10 years now, but 2-3 year is more common.
Next year, will depends of cost.

No charge. You can change your A record or Nameserver yourself in the domain control panel.

Will be reset as visitor history has nothing to do with domain name. Each hosting has its way to keep the history.
You might want to use Google Analytics which is not dependent on your web hosting.

Application? You mean the domain? It is usually activate as soon as I verify your payment manually .. usually within hours.
Pointing to web hosting using A record usually within 1 hour but changing Name servers might take 4 - 10 days.

1 domain is enough for most people. Thanks for your interest.
