Bro this might help:
1. download software: 1.1.2-jailbreak.zip, and idemocracy2.0 updated with the 2.02 patch.
2. Hold the power button(top right) and home button(front center) down on the iPhone until the phone cycles and you see the silver apple. When you see it, release the power button, but continue to hold the home button.
3. Open iTunes (probably needs to be a 7.x.x release,or newer version 8.0)Restore the iPhone to 3a109a by shift or right-clicking on the “restore” button and selecting the restore image you downloaded from the internet. (DO NOT USE 3A110a — this is causing error 5!)
4. Open independence jailbreak and appinstall - this did fail, but it took the iphone out of recovery mode so i could continue.
5. do the prefs://1 using the *#309# call sequence (all over the internet) to get to http://jailbreakme.com. i need to document this better…
6. when you go to jailbreakme.com, if you’ve updated to the correct iPhone image, jailbreak can take advantage of the vulnerability in the tiff image and install AppTap, or “installer” on your iphone.
7. when your phone restarts, you will see the installer icon. open it, scroll to tweaks 1.1.1, and install Oktoprep. Also add OpenSSH
8. UPDATE to 1.1.2 in itunes - it will LOOK like everything is lost, but it’s not!
download jailbreak 1.1.2 from conceited software. It’s been awhile since i’ve done this, but i think jailbreak 1.1.2 runs on both mac and pc.
9. run jailbreak 1.1.2 from a mac or pc with the iphone connected (i forget how it works right now).
NOTE:This is a different error(ERROR 5)..but you can try it..DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK BRO ...tq

I think u need to synchronize your time to the present time which is NOW November 2008. I know i sound really sarcastic but U cannot just cut n paste stuff like that without knowing whats the situation. FW1.1.1 or FW1.1.2 are back in December 07 - January 08 bro. He'll be for sure risking his phone if he follow this.
Please get your fact straight and up to date or else u'll lead others to the wrong way.

Hi guys,
I tried doing Erase all data and settings on my iphone and now its stuck at the apple logo, so I decided to do a DFU.
Unfortunately after doing the dfu, after extracting package, the itunes tells me that the iphone cannot be restored because of unknown error 1, does anyone face this problem before?
Thanks.
iPhone Generation : 2G
Current Firmware : 2.1
iTunes Version : 8.0
Computer Platform : MAC OS X 10.5.5
Jailbreaking software : Pwnage
Problem Encountered : Unknown error 1 during restore process
Steps Had Taken (list down) : Attempt dfu mode again.
Problem Screenshot (if any) :
Other Info / Remark : Iphone is unable to boot in. Now stuck at apple logo.
Bro ... since you did the "Erase all data and settings", what it does is format or safe delete all content of the NAND i.e flash memory including the system file/OS. Thats why it only stuck at apple logo since it does not have any OS to boot from. What U can do is put it in restore mode (not DFU) and restore with the stock/original firmware. If all went well ... then just activate (if its an official unlock set) and jailbreak it using quickpwn.I tried doing Erase all data and settings on my iphone and now its stuck at the apple logo, so I decided to do a DFU.
