Hi, I would like to ask, I will be visiting Perth soon, got my tourist VISA approved. But i will need to drive in Perth, do I require any extra procedures before I can use my Malaysia driving license? Or I can just use it and rent a car there to drive?

You can drive using your malaysia driving license.

QUOTE(0liver88 @ Mar 5 2015, 02:51 PM) Thanks for the info!! Just remember to use your indicators and stick to the speed limit. You know what indicators are right? Cos I see most Malaysians never use them unless they use their hands. If you go more than 3km in the zone you will get a fine and same with parking in spots you're not supposed to park in. You will also get one if you are going 10km below the speed limit. There is no bargaining with the police here unlike in Malaysia. We have double demerits over the holiday periods (if you're coming over that period) as well as speed cameras (some which are hidden) that actually work - including on the freeway. Also red light cameras which means that they will catch you if you turn when the lights are red and you will get a fine as well. Even if you hire a car, the hire car company will charge you for the fines so you can't get away. This is the same around Australia.

I am planning to travel to Perth in August next year. Any idea which airlines have the cheapest tickets and when do they start to offer the tickets for sale ?
Most airlines will not sell their tickets ahead for >365 days ?

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Mar 8 2015, 02:30 PM) Just worried about the going 10km below the speed limit offence. Haha everyone will be mad at you if you go below the speed limit! Just make sure you read the signs... 50 in residential unless school drop off and pick up time is on and then it's down to 40. 60 or 70 on main roads. 80 to 100 on the freeway. The city has a Free Transit Zone meaning you can catch the train or bus for free in that area so make the most of it.

QUOTE(lodestar @ Mar 4 2015, 04:51 PM) You should go for Vodafone, it has a better deal compared to Optus with the prepaid caps. Is it? Was in Perth for travel last week and I took a prepaid from Optus. $2 per day for unlimited calls, unlimited text and 500MB data. To me this is a good plan. What is Vodafone offering btw?
