big fan of the bora here 2 my mind, the most user friendly italian supercar of the 70s..

one of the reason i like it so much is that it came out at a time where italy is pouring wit delicious supercars, but still it managed 2 make a significant impact.. sure it does not have the looks of the countach, or the performance of the 308, n compared 2 those 2, its performance isnt sumthin 2 shout about.. yet, it still is a definitive italian thoroughbred supercar..

n the funny part is, its not even pure italian it was made during the time maserati was owned by citroen.. so a lot of citroen's stuff was underneath the bora

yup.. citroen acquired maserati in the late 1960s.. so they wanted 2 make a 2 seater mid engined supercar 2 rival against ferrari's n lambo's.. the bora is wat resulted.. becoz of this, a lot of citroen's stuff is being used in the bora, brakes, steering, clutch etc.. 2 my mind, wat makes the bora truly unique at that time was its user friendliness.. it had a posh interior, seats n interior wrapped in leather, good sound proofing, it even had double glazing.. ferrari's n lambo's at that time were making, quite literally, undriveable cars.. the countach 4 instance, its a great car 2 look at, but a pain in the ass 2 drive.. yes, compared 2 the 308 n countach, the bora's performance is pathetic.. this is due 2 all of the luxuriness of it, making it heavy if compared 2 its rivals.. as a result, it wasnt very successful..

its not that it doesnt do well in terms of performance.. 0-60 in 6.5 secs, top speed 266kmh.. thats really good even by 2day's standards.. its juz that if compared 2 its main rivals that, which r much much lighter, the bora juz isnt as good.. n when we're talkin bout supercars, figures juz means business..

u know, there is a cheaper version of the bora, called the "merak".. it uses the same body as the bora, n looks pretty much the same, wit a smaller v6 engine..

dude, i think ure a much bigger than i am.. coz although i adore it very much, i wouldnt wanna own one

its sad isnt it, that car designs 2day r goin backwards instead of forwards.. instead of making more beautiful cars, we seem 2 be making more ugly ones, even supercars.. car designers 2day r governed by so much safety rules n regulations, that its impossible 2 design sumthin beautiful anymore.. ferrari's 4 instance, 2 me, they stop making pretty cars after the 355.. the 360, the 430, the 612, the 599 even r not pretty.. we juz think they r coz theyre ferrari's..

Well I wouldn't say super rich.. The TVR Chimaera was never really that expensive here - around RM300k in its time.
