R35 is exotic car.... every exotic spotter website i seen consider it has an exotic..i don't think its a supercar,,

Agreed 100%. While it is an undoubtedly GOOD performance car, it is by no means an exotic, or a supercar.

ofcoursela.... IMO r35 is jdm supercar even honda nsx they call supercar.japan supercar are different from other countries in term of supercar.correctme if im wrong.

All supercar are called like them because of its superior technology that the car had at the time.The reason why NSX has been regarded as Japanese supercar in the 90's was because it exotic styling & its good handling(Ken Okuyama,Gordon Murray,Bobby Rahal,Ayrton Senna was behind the project)

One more thing to be noted is the material & the techs of NSX at the times which mean to be superior.The ergonomic,high revving engine,aluminium construction,PGM-FI(where in 90's Bosch Jerk type injection & carbs is still common)is also the reason it was called by journalist as "east supercar" in the 90s "supercar boom phenomena".

Most of top of line model are called as Halo model,which is made to showcase the latest,& most advances car to be selling at the public & significantly boost the image of the company itself.

The term supercar can be going down or downgraded as the car techs & styling is getting "older" by generation to come.

Just like most of sportbike(600cc-1000cc sports)is known as SuperSport(600cc) MiddleSport(750-800cc) & Litrebike(1000cc,or 1 litre)

The term superbike is significant in motorsports where the bike was highly modified for racing purpose only.

But in country where the taxes are mean to make the bike ultra expensive(like here in malaysia)we tend to pronounce it as Superbike due to its perfomances,displacement,technology & styling term that too much different than so-called motorcycle here(moped has upgraded status as "true" bike,& the real bike are mean to be in different league,hence the tax is up to 275%-300% for 600cc & above)

BTW this forum is suppose to be about discussion of performance or the sharing of an experience while you can cherish and appreciate all the marques if u hav passions about cars instead of dishing them. You do have a point.
People, rather that praising a find or photo, will make random "out-of-the-case" comments like.. about the missing tax disc, excessive tints, illegal plates, etc.. and of course, on whatever that has been done to the car.
"Bodykit not nice", "wheels are ugly", etc. This, that.

If you're not passionate about these fine automobiles, and don't appreciate hard work of spotting and photography.. then just hang out elsewhere.

I had an up close & personal with this GTR the other day in KLGCC (that's the sticker on top of the road tax). Took me a while to realise that the entire car is covered with the matte film, which doesn't really like clinging on to sharp points, which is why there's some folds at the base of the rear spoiler. Still, it's visually very imposing, my brother was referring to it as the Godzilla GTR.

On the matter of the GTR as a supercar, what exactly denotes a supercar? Is it the cost, the rarity, the power produced, the engine capacity, the seating configuration, the engine layout, the 0-100 time, the 0-200 time, the 0-xxx-0 time, the size of its brakes, the drag coefficient, the kerb appeal, the size of its spoiler, what? Or is it a combination of all the above is some sort of mystical ratio no-one but Clarkson can decipher?

The way I like to see it, if it's not in here, it's not a supercar. Those guys probably know a bit more about this in a first-hand manner than most of us put together, so I'd think that there has to be some measure of truth there. Of course, lists are never infallible and mostly aren't totally comprehensive, and there are bound to be errors and mistakes somewhere, or some vehicle that defies categorisation. Whatever the case, the GTR isn't in the Supercar list, but it is in the Coupe/GT list. Although it's not what one would categorise an exotic, that does not detract from what an amazing vehicle it is, and why I don't mind seeing it in this thread.

There was no supercar on the road except in the track....just like 1000cc sportbike which not mean to be called as superbike even the perfomances & technology are superior in the class.

Super-sports car/Sports car or Halo car.....thats what we have on the road legally...

Car that can be classified as Halo car by each company:

Ferrari=Enzo,F40,F50

Porsche=Carrera GT,911 GT1 StrabbenVersion.

Nissan=R390GT1(suppose to sell the car in road legal version as mandate by FIA but somehow the rules did not state how mcuh road version need to be build,so it end up to only 2 road version,which one in Nismo HQ,& others in Nissan HQ,other sold to privateer to only in form of GT version), Nissan GTR.

It was subjective pronounce to be described at the car that was intended to have it,but it was company philosophy to put the term,as if the company want to sell the product at limited basis & showing the marvel of their own creation....that what the Halo car was intended to do...



GTR is good car for sure,but I dunno why Japanese halo car/supercar having a fast "depreciation" in world of supersport car,perhaps due to their own nature that the car was almost affortable to anyone & produce in such a large number than european sportcar,when it was produce at limited basis,& only allowed to buy the car if their certify what the company need for the buyer to had one(even $$$$$$ cant guarantee that the car is your except you got it second hand which is way too expensive due to the car limited stock)

Spotted nissan gt-r at traffic light in front of times square yesterday. Plate AGR 88 if i'm not mistaken. Didn't managed to take pictures, the light green already. Window's down and the driver is a mat saleh. Super macho in that car, and the sound Felt super-small in my SLK (small little kancil)
