I cant seem to be able to create a profile to play online.

It's like the auth servers are down or something.

so far as i knoe...only pirate version is not able to create profile like that..ori copy i havent heard anyone complaint,even on their official forum no one is having this problem...

to play online multiplayer, you need to have original game to install and play multiplayer.

Yes, I have the original collectors edition with the stainless steel canteen and aluminium box.


It's still not working. The COD official forums are full of other people complaining about this as well.

I mean that when i key in a name and click yes, nothing happens and i am prompted to create an online profile again.

Have you patched the latest update?

User---AppData---Local---Activision---CoDWaW---players---profiles---"then create new folder as your profile then open active and paste your profile name"

SAME with me...i am playing the RELOADED version of COD 5..and still seems cant to create the online profile....WHY??currently reinstalling it, hope it works..=(.....HOPE there is a solution to it...

Yup, i've done and tried everything:

- Full reinstall and patch
- Reinput key from options menu in game.
- cleared up profiles folder in AppData
- Disabled firewall
- Disabled User Access Control (ie. disabled file permissions in Vista)
- Disabled antivirus.
- My computer is now open and vulnerable (!)
- Run as admin.


Still doesnt work. Simply cant create a profile



kahwei, try using the CodWaWmp.exe and press shift+` to bring up the full console. What error message do you get?

I get bdAuthService::createAccount returns error 109

I had reinstalled and patch mine to version 1.1 and now my multiplayer crash when 'RETRIEVING ACCOUNT INFORMATION' and it says "Unhandled Exception Caught"....????Why??First was the cant create profile, now crash soon after i launched MULTIPLAYER???Anyone HELP pls??

I have the original Collector's Edition that I waited PATIENTLY till Nov 12th to buy. Cost RM300 and was supposed to give me a heads start in the multiplayer mode. Now im !@#$%^&*.

Its like this, this error is a bunch of craps that treyarch or activision forgot to test or runs QA. Sometimes it works and sometime it wont. Whether you using original or not, it doesnt matter. Mines as usual is ori la but I still get this crap though the last 48 hours it can retrieved and verified my profile.
As for online multiplayer, you dont actually need this crap to play. Just go click Find Server and enter your favorite server address, hmm BVPN address will do.
And finally, call the person/shop you bought from and ask them to resolve your problem.

1. Navigate to the folder :
* XP users :C:Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles\
* Vista users : C:Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles\
2. Delete all the folders in there.
3. Create a new folder with the name of the Profile ex: XXXX (folder remains empty)
4. Create text file: active.txt (must NOT be readonly)
5. Open active.txt and type in your profile folder name (XXXX)
(active.txt NOT active.txt.txt)
