b00n , just to add to the first page QUOTE Transactions incurred will be converted to Ringgit Malaysia using US$ as the base currency on the date the item is received and/or processed at such exchange and at such time as may be determined by Visa International/MasterCard Worldwide at its absolute discretion plus administration cost of 1.25%. Just wondering , can a Non-Mulsim apply for Islamic Credit Card. What are its disadvantages and advantages. I know about conventional credit card , but does syariah law kicks in for us as well - meaning that we can't spend on liquor , gambling and stuff like that

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 18 2009, 09:35 PM) Why not? I'm carrying a Islamic card - MBB Ikhwan AMEX from Maybank Islamic. Haven't spend on those items yet. Care to explain the difference between a normal credit card and lslamic credit card , from your view of point. I do know the basics of it. I just want to get an in-sight of it

PBB is pretty pick on giving credit cards. They like to verify this and that and this and that. They think twice. Its not recommended to get credit card from them. EON bank seems to bit okay on the other hand on issuing credit cards !

QUOTE(RockIron @ Jan 19 2009, 05:04 PM) Hi prasys, Yup I agreed with u. PBB is very strict in issuing cc, get this info from a lot of people. They hav rights to reject the application although the person are qualify for it. Hey There Yeah. I've people that I do know who are working PBB , saying that its very hard to get a good credit score from PBB. These people take a bit of long time to process your application. Many people didn't get through it - i am not sure how they process. Do you have many credit cards. I sense that PBB doesn't like a person who carries many credit card. Usually PBB doesn't do a lot of credit card roadshows Oh , for other banks such as HSBC , maybank. Its easier to get a credit card once you have a credit card from other credit institution/bank

QUOTE(GHz @ Jan 21 2009, 08:43 PM) Anyone heard of Synergy+ MasterCard. It was launched last month. Benefits of the Synergy+ MasterCard credit card include a 50% discount on cash advance fees for the first six months, free RM100,000 accidental disability insurance for the first year, and up to 0.8% cash rebate on retail transactions. Wow , 50% discount on cash advance fees ? You got to be kidding , can someone give me the direct link to their Terms and Services. I just want to make sure that there are no hidden strings attached. It seems to be too good to be true that they offer 50% discount !

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 21 2009, 08:58 PM) Not issued by bank? Are they an approved financial institution like AEON Credit? http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_News/BTIM...kdsyng/Article/It seems that AmBank is their credit provider. I would prefer to get a credit card through a bank or finicial institution instead of an investment company. Added on January 21, 2009, 9:10 pmQUOTE(backislan @ Jan 21 2009, 07:16 AM) hi guys, i'm thinking of applying for cc,whats the easiest cc to apply?i'm a gov servant, working about 5 months, fixed salary rm1800, n what are documents needed?if i still have blacklist from celcom cannot apply or can? For gov servant , its bit easier for you to get approval of your credit card. I would recommend maybank. Its because you're with the government and they do know that there isn't going to go wrong when you're working in the government. For first timers , I highly recommend you to sign up for maybank. Work your way on your credit line and get a good credit score ! This post has been edited by prasys: Jan 21 2009, 09:10 PM

QUOTE(eric84cool @ Jan 27 2009, 07:57 PM) Hey guyz, If happen to have lost the credit card...do we need to report police for it??? Meanwhile, how to ask for exemption from annual fee...I just got my statement from citibank charging me annual fee but I have spent more than 12k annually .... No need. Just call up the bank ASAP and report to them that you lost your card or your card was stolen. So that they'll freeze that account As said by kons , just make noise. Usually , they'll just waive it after making noise !

Debit card with 0% installments ? You gotta be kidding me
You buy it in credit usually , you don't buy in debit. If you buy in debit , you'll rather pay the whole thing instead of "borrowing it and paying monthly"

QUOTE(counterp2 @ Jan 30 2009, 11:13 AM) I applied for OCBC CC and failed I applied for HSBC CC and failed Then i applied for Maybank CC and passed I guess Maybank CC is definitely easier to apply then. Now whenever i see HSBC or OCBC CC booth in shopping mall, i just ignore them. Try reapplying , now they'll just give you a credit card. Its competition Once you have a card , the rest would be easy* - Its all now down to competition. The banks just want you to spend , spend and spend ! *depending on your credit score which will be calculated by the bank , etc

QUOTE(kockroach @ Feb 18 2009, 09:28 PM) But last month I pay for my gf ACCA fee in pound, they didnt charge me anything wor? Of course , you wouldn't be charged Try to convert from Pounds to MYR , you'll notice in your credit card statement that you paid extra 1 or 2%. You'll hardly notice it. You wouldn't be seeing as extra charges or etc.
