How come my UOB card got such charges?

13 November 2008  14 November 2008  SMART PROTECTOR PREMIUM  1.15
13 November 2008  14 November 2008  SMART PROTECTOR PREMIUM  1.11

What is the SMART PROTECTOR PREMIUM?
*
Most probably it is the insurance plan.
Was asked to fill in a UOB card form that day, saw a column at the bottom for insurance. Something like Every RM100 outstanding balance will be charged RM0.60 for insurance (if you decided to take it up)

Affinbank insurance is way cheaper.. RM0.2x for every RM1000 outstanding if i remember correctly

No, not all bank requires 12 months old/existing card. Example:
Citibank - at least 6 months cc holder of another bank
UOB - they did not mention how many months is required t/b eligible to apply.

You can call to check their requirement but Citibank mention in their website -- 6 months.

Or if you want fast.. just fixed deposit RM5K to any bank to get a credit card smile.gif

If you like CL increament with Citibank, try to apply for Gold credit card because their Gold credit card as per their site, auto-increase the CL every 6 months.  I don't have Citibank gold card.  Hopefully anyone who has one can double-check this.

Yes. Almost everything you charge to your card espect balance transfer, cash advance and installment plan.

aight, thanks for the info ..

Was looking at the alliance younique ... seems like a pretty cool card.
Get to customize the card and also choose either 2% rebate on all retail or 9% finance charge p.a

Just to let you know that, its says up to 2% cash rebate based on tier rate as below. It is not exactly 2% on all transaction.

Monthly Spending Range (RM) Rebate Factor
0-500                            0.50%
501-1350                            0.70%
1351-2550                            0.90%
2551-5000                            2.00%
*
aw, thank for that ...
anyway.. for the coolness of my own designed card.... brows.gif

Got another question

Let's say i have a card now. And the card will be cancelled/had to be cancelled but there are still outstanding for that card.

Must i settle the outstanding?
Or i can still maintain the account (with the card cancelled) and only pay the minimum 5% monthly?

They will keep sending u statement until u have clear all ur outstanding.

But my advise to you is liase with bank and get EPP for lower interest mah.. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Thx. So i guess it is the same for all banks eh?
Gee... the officer told me thru the phone that i need to settle the outstanding if the card were to be cancelled.

Will double confirm with another officer of that bank tomorrow.

not necessary to clear all your outstanding when you terminate your cc, but must pay it later when the next statement comes
*
Aiyayaya... when u say 'must pay when next statement comes'

Do you mean pay everything or
the minimum 5% thingy?

too all wanting a credit card with no income... apply at ambank.. just apply and put 5k FD and you will get a 5k limit credit card!
*
how sure are you?

ambank got a pretty nice standard in deciding who gets credit card and who doesn't ...
they can give Mr A a housing loan of RM250k but decline to give him a credit card of even a RM3000 limit.

I am wondering how can Citibank send my credit card to a different address since I pass to them my copy of mykad and fill in form properly. Is this intentional or what. They call me to verify the address and it was way... way wrong, not even close to where I am staying. sad.gif
*
Well, they sent me the pincode of the card before CNY ... tills now i haven't saw my card yet.. lol

Bank Negara is really makes us burden a lot by implementing the late charges and the finance charge that calculated from the transaction date if no full payment is made on due date instead of statement date which was previously.

I forgot to pay yesterday and today was debited 1% on late charges  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif
*
Probably you could get them to waive the 1% if u were always on time

I always forgot and asked them to waive for past two months... If wanna ask again, paiseh bo?

This bank very celaka, 1 day late sudah kena on the next day...

HongLeong Bank gives me2-3 days then only debit to my account.
*
Slap yerself then .... or get your wife/gf/bf/mistress/toyboy/toygirl/sugamummy/sugadaddy/pa/clerk/boss/manager/director to slap you on the day you are suppose to pay the bill so that you wont forget.

I got charge once or twices as well.... didn't bother to ask for waiver though... i remember i had to pay. but then i forgot when it comes... so.... wel.. my fault... so, let them earn lo. Rugi duit hoping i would be scare for 2nd time. Mana tau it doesn't really work. rclxub.gif
