hi..
i'm new in lowyat forum...
i have one question to all sifu here.... i'm using amd triple core 8450... i already overclock the proc to 2.7ghz, safe booting windows, run vantage and 3dmark 06 and also stress the cpu using orthos prime for more than 4 hours.... is this consider as stable overclock?

here are my spec

AMD Phenom X3 8450 (stock 2.1ghz) overclock to 2.7ghz
- lower the ram from ddr800 to ddr533
- lower the HTT multiplier to 5x
- increase the bus speed to 256 * 10.5 = 2688Hz
- no increase voltage

Mainboard : Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2
- socket AM2 (yes.. that why i lower the HTT multiplier to 5x)
- this board did not have any panel to increase voltage in bios even after bios update..
- already update the bios so that it can use the phenom proc...

using gigabyte CPU heatsink the one that has 3 pipes.. forgot the name..

RAM = 1gb DDR800 x 2.. single channel... something wrong with my board as it keep crashing when using dual channel even i did not overclock it...

graphic card : hd4850 stock

power suply : Cooler Master 460watt

1 sata harddisk

2 dvdrom

here are the pic while stressing the CPU using orthos

[attachmentid=675517]

the CPU temp did not go over 49C
i notice that the orthos only stress for 2 CPU instead of 3 CPU - which explained the low temp

play far cry 2, crysis warhead without crashing.... the proc temp did go over 55C.... MAX celcius as i already do reseach 70C..

idling at 36C

sorry for poor english...

thanks in advanced

---------------

by the way, i'm using vista ultimate 32bit SP1

how to stress all the core?? i cannot find any panel to change the stress from 2 cores to 3 cores?? or there is new orthos version that able to do it??
i'm using orthos v0.41.110.18
for the ram.. yess i already try the 667.. but the ram frequency seems to be more than 400.. and bios cannot change the divider.. it already somehow fix.... i will try it again for 667.... n giv u shot...

thanks...

ok some update...
is not the HTT i change.. it is the memory controller frequency... i change it to x8...

the HTT thing is set to auto.... the northbridge freq is 2050MHz n it is okay right??

about the DRAM configuration... when i put DRR667... the ram frequency after overclock will be 853... hence i can't boot bios.. as my board strictly 800... n there is no panel to change the divider... so put DDR533 = freq 682..

yes i already test both ram slot... is still the same...

sorry.. how to set 1 orthos only stress 1 core?? i missing something here???

thanks you for the attention that all of you given... smile.gif

okay already update my siggy...

nope... i can't even boot bios if i put DDR667... i think my mainboard lock it... i already read somewhere that this board only can use maximum 800... if i put 667 than the freq will be 853(already check it just now).... thanks...smile.gif

okay will try to use SP2004...

Added on November 17, 2008, 2:30 pmright now using SP2004.. will update within an hour....

hahaha... okay...already run

- orthos beta blend test for 2 cores
+
- sp2004 stress for another 1 core

for 1 hour... the result something like this

[attachmentid=675665]

the max temp for cores = 53C as in the pic...
max Volt from the HW monitor shows 1.28V

as for the northbridge freq... will try to find whther there is panel to change it....

yes.. 690 chipset so i can't unleash the full potential of my phenom.. will upgrade the board maybe next month... been using this board almost 3 years without any prob except the dual channel thing....

so this can be consider as stable overclocking??

o really??... i thought that orthos doing blend so that 2 cores of the proc plus ram will be stress... and SP2004 will stress another one core...

the temp is okay or not??? coz when i did not OC my proc before the max around 46C to 50C... or maybe that because of my room is to hot??

will try the SP2004 x3 for the whole night today... smile.gif

yeah.. really need new board... maybe next month or when new board that support 45nm amd proc release... right now... bankrupt already... smile.gif
