QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Nov 18 2008, 05:06 PM) source HERE... so it means deneb will have no problem runnin on am2+ boards i guess... Soooo in essence is that if u really want future upgradibility we should wait for the AM3 Deneb coz only AM3 Deneb would be able to be use on an AM3 mobo n DDR3.. The AM2+ Deneb is only to be use on AM2+ mobo eh?? Hmmmmmm Makes u wonder why they want to release the AM2+ model ah, might as well they just release the AM3 parts coz still can be use on AM2+ and AM3 mobo..

QUOTE(ronaldjoe @ Nov 18 2008, 07:15 PM) DDR3 memory is still very $$$ So they delay it QUOTE(sepulgilo @ Nov 18 2008, 07:50 PM) they also dun want the sales slowly growing they want deneb to boost as fast as it can I know ah, but if they straightaway release the AM3 parts it would be better i think coz people wouldn't be holding back purchase.. In buying an AM3 parts they are certainly be able to upgrade to AM3 n DDR3 later on, at the same time AM3 parts are said to be AM2+ compatible soo u can still buy those cdeapo DDR2 n mobo for now..

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Nov 18 2008, 08:22 PM) Hmm i think im wrong then. That means AM2+ Deneb Processor has DDR2 IMC while AM3 Deneb Processor has both DDR2 and DDR3 IMC. As AMD said,AM3 processor can be use on AM2+ but not the other way.Thats mean,AM3 Deneb processor has DDR2 and DDR3 IMC,while AM2+ Deneb has only DDR2 IMC,thats why it cannot be use in AM3 motherboard, because the AM3 mobo has the support of DDR3,while the AM2+ Deneb doesnt have, thus causes compatibility issues here.So maybe my Dual channel DDR2/Dual Channel DDR3 is true..But we will seee... Yup i believe so too, so the best bet for now if this news is true is that we should be getting the AM3 deneb's for future upgraded ability... But for o/c? It's still unclear coz maybe to best o/c with DDR2 we should be targeting the AM2+ parts due to their sole DDR2 IMC.. Only time will tell ah..

The most expensive is reserved for Phenom FX.. The regular Deneb Phenom should be priced lower.. If they release it at prices like the current Phenom's it would be a blast

QUOTE(sepulgilo @ Nov 18 2008, 08:51 PM) jauh lagi still got time play phenom heheheheee Yup be mindful though, the AM3 parts should only be launch on Feb 09 but i think it should be much greater in term of headroom coz it's listed at 95W.. The Jan 09 AM2+ parts is still listed at 125W..

QUOTE(sepulgilo @ Nov 18 2008, 09:06 PM) no money for am3 parts n new hardware hehhheeee let me play with phenom while i have $$ Miahahaha, your mobo should support AM3 Phenom ah, remember that it is supposed to be backward compatible with AM2+ mobo.. U don't really need to buy DDR3 and AM3 Mobo to use it.. Hopefully ah it would go as planned.. But if u insist, by all mean get a Toliman n it should be enuff

QUOTE(sepulgilo @ Nov 18 2008, 10:52 PM) source from techpowerup looks yummy also but still to change all hardware if wanna unleash the beast out of it without any hassle rite? From the way i see it's not entirely a waste to use deneb on a current AM2+ mobos based on 790GX or 790FX with SB750 if u happen to have one.. If ur using AM2 mobo it's another story ah, yes u miss a lot of the enhancement they done.. If u have seen the small leaked reviews on the net about deneb counterpart in enterprise sector ie. shanghai u will see that those test were done on the same platform ie same mobo/chipset just the cpu is different.. Even using the same platform u can see the different level of performance and energy saving u can get by using the newer 45nm cpu.. Soo this is why to me it could not be far fetch to say that it would not be much of a waste to use the newer deneb on ur existing AM2+ if ur really on a budget.. Just my 2 cents ah..

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Nov 18 2008, 11:10 PM) Yeah they are keeping Athlon X4 name.Actually its Deneb but without L3 Cache. I found Athlon X4 suits me..But we will see the price first It's a retarded deneb without the L3 cache Or maybe it's like the current phenom's with only 2mb L3 cache?? QUOTE(cdlim87 @ Nov 19 2008, 01:07 AM) i blive the price will much higher thn expected.. mayb.. Yup i believe it would be a bit higher though.. I don't think they gonna sell the dual core's at RM100~200.. Maybe they would be closely like intel pricing but a bit lower.. Unless of course they are gonna pull off a trick like ATI did to nvidia, pricing lower much lower than nvidia at the time.. If it's like that then Hurray for the consumers

Nope, actually if u look at their planned release the old X3's would only be phased out around Q3 2009.. Also remember that they are only planning to release the newer X2 around June 2009.. So no hope in getting el-cheapo phenom X2 b4 that.. Even the 9950 is schedule to still be around till Q4 2009.. This post has been edited by cloudwan: Nov 19 2008, 01:29 AM

Miahahaha they have release a performance difference graph between the platform Spider n Dragon.. Should be taken with a grain of salt though coz no real benchmark have been seen yet.. Keep ur finger crossed though n hope it is as it claim to be From the requirement i can see i'm a step away to having a full fledge dragon platform.. Or does the old Phenom count in as well?? QUOTE(-pWs- @ Nov 19 2008, 07:57 AM) The naming is not right IIANM. I guess they replace the model naming as Phenom II xxx. -pWs-Yup the naming scheme isn't right.. That list is made before they announced the new naming scheme of Phenom II.. It's actually much easier to refer to the official AMD slides released here: http://www.techpowerup.com/76417/Phenom_II...e_Revealed.html

QUOTE(sarahlah @ Nov 19 2008, 01:42 PM) hdd cheaper at viewnet and pc zone.. bro ameque.. do u remember the mobo packaging ? http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=pr...71&prod_no=1616http://global.msi.com.tw/html/popup/MB/45nm/en/index.htmlAM3 ready mobo.. is it good news ? Wow, DDR3 128MB meh? Biostar is only DDR2 128MB It even has pwm sinks, nice mehh.. Good buy for RM330.. Only single slot PCIE but still ok ah, not many are going for double or triple GPU anyway I just don't like the sata port though, prefer it would be facing to the side like Biostar.. QUOTE(cdlim87 @ Nov 19 2008, 02:37 PM) oh.........ic.. coz i saw frm the table the time is Q4 2008 mean nw should be lunching oledi, but nvr c any similar thing.. so im so curious abt it... mean it should be the phenom x2 as we say b4 is 6500 rite?? I believe so, maybe it's the older Phenom X2's using the older 65nm process.. Like the 6500.. But don't know if would ever reach here though..
