Soooo in essence is that if u really want future upgradibility we should wait for the AM3 Deneb coz only AM3 Deneb would be able to be use on an AM3 mobo n DDR3..

In buying an AM3 parts they are certainly be able to upgrade to AM3 n DDR3 later on, at the same time AM3 parts are said to be AM2+ compatible soo u can still buy those cdeapo DDR2 n mobo for now..

But for o/c? It's still unclear coz maybe to best o/c with DDR2 we should be targeting the AM2+ parts due to their sole DDR2 IMC..

The most expensive is reserved for Phenom FX..
The regular Deneb Phenom should be priced lower..
If they release it at prices like the current Phenom's it would be a blast

Jan 2009 they should be launching Phenom II X4 800/900 series (Deneb) 2MB L2 & 6MB L3
Feb 2009 they should be launching Phenom II X3 700 series (Heka) 1.5MB L2 & 6MB L3???
Apr 2009 they should be launching Athlon X4 600 series (Propus) 2MB L2 & Athlon X3 400 series (Rana) 1.5 MB L2
Jun 2009 they should be launching Athlon X2 200 series (Regor) 2MB L2??

Yup be mindful though, the AM3 parts should only be launch on Feb 09 but i think it should be much greater in term of headroom coz it's listed at 95W..
The Jan 09 AM2+ parts is still listed at 125W..

Miahahaha, your mobo should support AM3 Phenom ah, remember that it is supposed to be backward compatible with AM2+ mobo..
U don't really need to buy DDR3 and AM3 Mobo to use it..
Hopefully ah it would go as planned..
But if u insist, by all mean get a Toliman n it should be enuff

Everyone's itchy coz the release date is coming near..

From the way i see it's not entirely a waste to use deneb on a current AM2+ mobos based on 790GX or 790FX with SB750 if u happen to have one..
If ur using AM2 mobo it's another story ah, yes u miss a lot of the enhancement they done..
If u have seen the small leaked reviews on the net about deneb counterpart in enterprise sector ie. shanghai u will see that those test were done on the same platform ie same mobo/chipset just the cpu is different..
Even using the same platform u can see the different level of performance and energy saving u can get by using the newer 45nm cpu..
Soo this is why to me it could not be far fetch to say that it would not be much of a waste to use the newer deneb on ur existing AM2+ if ur really on a budget..
Just my 2 cents ah..

Yup i believe it would be a bit higher though.. I don't think they gonna sell the dual core's at RM100~200..
Maybe they would be closely like intel pricing but a bit lower..

Unless of course they are gonna pull off a trick like ATI did to nvidia, pricing lower much lower than nvidia at the time..

Nope, actually if u look at their planned release the old X3's would only be phased out around Q3 2009..
Also remember that they are only planning to release the newer X2 around June 2009..
So no hope in getting el-cheapo phenom X2 b4 that..
Even the 9950 is schedule to still be around till Q4 2009..

Should be taken with a grain of salt though coz no real benchmark have been seen yet.. Keep ur finger crossed though n hope it is as it claim to be
