I'd be buying the new Macbook Air with 1.83Ghz processor and 128GB SSD, since this is treated as CTO as the resellers here. Need to let go off the OLD Macbook Air and the Tosh Qosmio before that happens.

Unless, any of the Premium Resellers stock these 1.83GHz MBAs as shelf items, looks like the new Apple Online Store came just in the nick of time. wink.gif

If I buy MBA from machines, I will get discount/point from their Machines Card... Will it be cheaper to buy at Online Apple or direct from the shop? Hmmm...

Actually, they are almost the same. Buy from apple, you will get about 5% student discount, buy from machines, you will also get 5% rebates.

i think the educational discount is based on the products u're trying to get, and not 5% store wide.. for my case i got 10% off from edu discount from Apple australia, plis stringfellow travels alot... he can probably be eligible for GST refunds.. not sure whether aircrews are eligible or not, but worth the try.. i highly double they are eligible coz they travel lots..

It seems that the 120GB version will take 2-3 weeks days to arrive
But 128 GB SSD is 4-6 days....

do you guys feel anxious, like you feel like you WANT to buy everything? haha, the first time in my life i can't wait to be a student again.

the time capsule price is very tempting. the free t-shirt is tempting. i feel like ordering something just so i can experience that little apple box shipping to my home. is it just me? am i weird? hehe...

Do take note everyone that the times quoted are shipping estimates, not delivery estimates. Just saying this to prevent future rants about products not being delivered on time. For products that have a shipping estimate of 1-2 business days, expecting delivery within 3-5 days would be more reasonable. Might be even later.

The Msia, Indo, Phil, Thai & Vietnam stores launched today are based in Singapore, operated by Apple South Asia Pte Ltd. With that being said, it is still unclear whether Apple has warehouse facilities in each country, or whether the items will be shipped out from their facility in Singapore.

To those who are ordering online, do share with us the tracking progress. With CTOs/engraved iPods, it would be interesting to see whether the items get shipped from China direct to Msia, or China>Singapore>Malaysia. I was thinking of ordering something just for the sake of getting the T-shirt, but I don't need another iPod/Mac for now. Plus I'm not in Msia at the moment, and I could get the stuff at cheaper prices anyway. So no ordering by me... YET tongue.gif Enjoy the free t-shirt people.

Despite the fact that the Malaysian store does not have friendly return policies, it's good to know that they do offer price protection if the prices of the items purchased happen to drop (This is under T&C 9.2).

Re: Edu discounts, usually no proof of identification is required. This doesn't mean anyone and everyone should abuse it.

Not just you, Dawn. I feel the same too. It fills me with pride that we are treated the same (almost) like those countries with a proper online Apple Store. The final sealing of the deal is to see a real life Apple Store in KL. That would make KL as prestigious as Apple Store 5th Avenue, Apple Store Beijing and Apple Store Sydney. I would seriously shed tears if that happens.

ask your friend try calling customer service and see if they can extend for him or not?
just try and see, not sure if it'll work though. no harm.
