This type of question really getting on our nerves ya.
"Sure or not?"
If u read the thread closely, loads ppl bought it already hence the price confirmation. It should be around RM360-399.

You can get plenty of stock of the WD TV at Thundermatch in Low Yat Plaza. Bought my second unit there. But be warned - look carefully at the cover - it says there the stand for the HDD is not included! Even though there's a photo of the stand on the cover.

Also, the remote is matte black instead of glossy black like the unit I bought from an earlier batch. The glossy black remote is a lot nicer.

I regret a bit. I should have got a unit with the stand and the glossy remote. I would say if you go to Thundermatch, look carefully at the box and try to get an older unit which doesn't have the 'fine print' on the cover. They must have more than 100 units there at different shelves so look around. Then you can get the good price and all the stuff which should be in the box.

In short - if you want the stand and the glossy black remote, look at the cover and make sure it doesn't say it's not included - if you get what I mean!!

thks for the info~ actually got how many std package? the one with stand & glossy, the one without? what 'bout hdmi? is there any official std package come with hdmi?

There is only one package but different batches. Box looks the same but look at the fine print on the front of the box.

Earlier batch - Comes with stand and glossy remote

Current batch - no stand, matte black remote

Bought both my WD TVs from Thundermatch, so you can go there and look around. They still have plenty of stock.

HDMI - All the units come with a HDMI port, as well as optical port as well as composite ports but the only cables provided are composite cables. You have to purchase your own hdmi or optical cable if you plan to use those.

Also, I saw an earlier post asking which pocket hard drive to use with the WD TV. I recommend WD Passport Drives - seems more reliable and can use with different devices to me such as PC, Mac, WD TV and so on.

I found my Maxtor pocket drive doesn't mount sometimes on my PC after using on my Mac, whereas the WD Passport has no problem. Also tried Buffalo - seems quite fast but to be safe, prefer to stick to WD Passport drive for WD TV.

Could it be the 389/399 one is with stand and glossy remote while 369 only provide matte remote with stand ? How about those who got matte remote without stand, how much did you pay ?

rm370 is the pc fair price for this device. wd tv was sold for rm370 even at the previous pc fair as reported in previous posts.

I normally unplug the power when finished using WDTV+HDD. Last nite, I was so tired, so I just shut down via remote. This morning when I woke up, I anxiously went to the HDD and put my hand on it to feel if it hot or not. To my surprise, it was not and I realized theres no blinking at the LED. I switched on the WDTV, and its working fine. Phew.

Added on April 28, 2009, 12:43 amBtw, I have a fren staying around the Digital Mall PJ area. He said the price is still RM399 at All IT.

All IT is more expensive than Thundermatch and Viewnet even in Low Yat Plaza. They are still maintaining the old price of WD TV. All IT is a great place to buy stuff - especially LCD monitors - but not WD TV's!

just curious, what does the library do anyway compare to off?
*
Media Library - All Media files appear in one list regardless of which folder they are in.

Folder View - Media files appear in folders.

I prefer to turn Media Library off so that all the files appear in folders - easier to navigate.

Agree with you. This is the cheapest player available with HD and digital audio capable. The best I have now.

Cheapest but pretty good. Picture better than Dvico 4100 (after doing side by side comparison). For sound, no complaints but perhaps dvico has more features for HD sound. If you look at AVS forum, this seems to be the hottest HD Media player over in the US as well.

Thanks!..I did that, but didn't get the audio...then I realised I didn't select "optical output" to AUX. Will try again...it's not my system.

Bro, for best results, connect the hdmi output on the wdtv directly to your lcd/plasma/projector and the optical link to your bose optical input. don't run the video signal through the bose as it only has s-video or composite video connections. Very primitive in that respect. However, if you use the Bose only for the audio, it should sound ok.
