I dun think WD player can play DTS MA lar...only the old DD5.1 and normal DTS. Which still very good by all means...i'm not very demanding person.

I think Jalan pasar should have. LYP difficult to find, furthermore will be more expensive. I'm also looking for a 5M Toslink cable (cheap wan) but have no time to go Jalan Pasar yet...sigh..

The new one just opened near Ken Damansara? Do u see any 5m optical cable?

Hhmmm...looks like Western D player is still superior, Seagate only play up to 1080i. Also, it doesn't support RMVB either just like WD. And no mention of MKV o H264?? The WD design is also much better. I don't see any reason to wait for this player at all.

I disagree. At least the downloaded TVB dramas in Widescreen still looks way better than ASTRO SD in 4:3...LOL.

A lot of TVB dramas in RMVB, so no choice. Maybe i buy cheap China player....but no confidence in China product...

Any good RMVB player to recommend?

Err..TVB dramas in original DVD in MPEG-2 are not RMVB and i don't think they are Widescreen either. You should download some HD RMVB and see for yourself..in widescreen LCD TV. You won't see anything like it on ASTRO.

There's a furore of madness going on here regarding this problem. I'm one of the affected users.

And please update there if you successfully update ur Seagate HDD (or brick it)....tq!

All 7200.11 Seagate drives are affected, including but not limited to 1.5TB drives. I suggest u buy WD for now. I bought a 640GB WD on Sunday too.

Good things comes to those who wait. Frankly, i don't even want to watch those 700MB files anymore...looks like pirated DVD quality.

I want 5.1 surround and Hi-Def. The way it is meant to watch.

Furthermore, with mkv, even re-watching the movies is fun as it's a joy just to oogle at the hi-def quality.

I can wait. It took me about 1 month+ to download about 5 hidef movies...no problem. Next batch hopefully completing in another month time.

U need hi-end receiver, speakers, BD player, and ori BD which cost $$$$.

MKV can do 90% of the quality at 0.09% of the cost...

Where got free wan....Streamyx=$$$, Electricity=$$$, dedicated ATOM PC BT 24/7=$$$$

OOpps, i declare i only download for the sake of research and comparison of video sources and analysing of network throughput of Streamyx connection.

Actually, for 29" CRT, you don't even need WDTV...just normal AVI/DIVX player will do....The screen will be too small to see any difference.

The whole idea of having a player is NOT TO CONVERT FILES. Why waste time converting all the TVB HK DRAMAS with so many episodes???

I have an RMVB player...but no use...collecting dust...lol.

WDTV is nice, but nothing beats a real HTPC.
