Where to buy in KL? 3XX only? Sure or not?

This type of question really getting on our nerves ya.
"Sure or not?"
If u read the thread closely, loads ppl bought it already hence the price confirmation. It should be around RM360-399.

Guys, just came back from Lowyat. Bought the WDTV for RM369, with stand, together with WD My Book Essential Edition 640GB for RM259 at Viewnet Hyperstore. Which located cross All IT Hypermarket. They have both with stand and without stand, so make sure u look at the box first before buying.

At other shops, they're selling it for RM399.

Havent setup everything yet. Both still wrapped in their boxes. biggrin.gif

Yawn. Done setting up my WDTV and updated the firmware. I got problem playing some avi files. Now trying to convert it using the ArcSoft MediaConverter. And I got the same problem with the subs is not readable when the background is white.

Other than that, I'm happy with the WDTV. smile.gif

With this constant fixed, I'm sure there'll be less and less complaint from this thread. And, price increase. *touchwood* LOL.

I'm not sure about that.
Normally to be safe, we unmount/eject the usb portable from our pc rite?
And sometimes when we try to eject, a popup message will say that it's still in use. The best or safe way for this is to shutdown the pc and unplug the usb portable.
So it might be similar to this one.

I was thinking the same but now, after not even 2days since I bought this, the fixed has arrived. Kudos to WD!

Viewnet at lowyat plaza still have a lots. Price 369 but didn't mention about hdd stand at the box fine print. My own box have that. I just went there this evening.
*
At the front of the box where u can see the WDTV picture, u will find a small print as below.

"My Passport™ portable drive sold separately."
AND
"My Passport™ portable and stand sold separately."

Now, u should know which is which. biggrin.gif

Just read this at AVS Forum:

GuyWD:
This is normal. We're not turning off the USB bus power. Instead, we're just telling the drives to spin down. This is why some models of external drive don't spin down - they might not support the spindown command.
GuyWD is from Western Digital. He's interacting with AVS Forum users on the firmware issues.

This is a very good reason to get WD drive instead of other brands. To be safe.

I normally unplug the power when finished using WDTV+HDD. Last nite, I was so tired, so I just shut down via remote. This morning when I woke up, I anxiously went to the HDD and put my hand on it to feel if it hot or not. To my surprise, it was not and I realized theres no blinking at the LED. I switched on the WDTV, and its working fine. Phew.

Added on April 28, 2009, 12:43 amBtw, I have a fren staying around the Digital Mall PJ area. He said the price is still RM399 at All IT.

I, too, have considered DVICO. The 6500 model. Then the new model came out, the M-7000. Made me think, lemme try a smaller ones first and so I tried the WDTV. Maybe not a perfect player for some ppl but I'm satisfied with it. Guess I'm not that demanding. As long it can play MKV 1280x960, fine with me.
