Anyone can shade light on this question?
If I buy 3 items of different design, each item bout rm100+, add in those IATA freight charge maybe another rm200, will I be charge custom duty on the entire shipment? Or does it only apply to the exact same items? Another similar scenario... What if the shipment contains assorted items, some items rated 0%, some 20%, how do they actually calculate the CIF value? It will be bad if the max rate is used on the entire shipment....☹ This post has been edited by mistyblu: Nov 4 2018, 09:42 AM |

QUOTE(kherel77 @ Dec 2 2018, 03:38 PM) Luxury or not, if taxable items still got to pay the taxes. Yes. I recently experience this.Tax is dependable on Tariff Codes of items & CIF Value. Bought fr Europe a few assorted EVA (soft flexible plastic) handbags, total items cost euro130. Shipping via UPS, cost covered by merchant. Merchant did lousy job at packing items... the parcel was huge compared to the contents... can shake about & put many other stuffs in... 🙄. N the actual weight only 2.4kg! So, customs at KLIA charged freight Rm333. Insurance was 10% of items cost. Tariff code was 4202.12.1900. Custom duty 0% Sales tax 10% UPS disbursement fees rm37. All fees to customs paid by UPS. Was not informed of fees until agent going to deliver to me. Original customs receipt was attached with items. I just pay to the shipping agent. So, still quite satisfied w the whole transaction... though might be able to save rm100 if packing was done to a minimum volumetric weight... 🤔 Lesson learnt: for future transactions must tell merchant to pack smartly... 😎 |

QUOTE(kmed @ Dec 15 2018, 01:25 PM) My second parcel is detained by customs. I agree with kherel77 on the reason of your items being detained. Question, if I havent sorted out my first parcel which is still with customs (and the 15 days limit is approaching), should I drive to KLIA to claim two parcels. I'm thinking to save some money but I'm afraid they will claim two separate orders are less than RM500 individually but when add them up, it's more than RM500. In that case, it's not worth it for me to drive all the way there and instead just ask Poslaju to help me settle with some additional fee. Both parcels are supplements. Any thoughts? kherel77 Supplements as with medicine & cosmetic products need registration with National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency, NPRA. Seems only local individuals or companies can be the registration holder. I had similar problem with skin care products. Though they are available and registered (notified) here, but the shipper/ dealer is not. Better clarify with customs office or shipping agency. If due to NPRA held back, should have a letter to you... n given 30days to respond.... Hope this helps. |
