That's 2008. I'm refering to this Malaysian Trade Classification and Customs Duties Order - OCTOBER 2013 Edition. And leather shoes now is 10% sales tax.

I have a friend who once in a while orders video games from Amazon.com (US) but just recently the Customs incurred a rm39.50 duty on his video game which cost usd54.50. Has anyone experienced this before? He was planning to order a toy from the same site sometime this month as well.

No, I've never been charged anything by custom buying from Amazon and I've bought games worth a lot more. Did he use a courier company?

Yea, Amazon.com uses DHL most of the time when sending games to him but that was the first time he got taxed for a game.

if 3 pairs of sports shoes plus delivery = overall total is GBP$ 81 = RM 450.

Less than RM 500, got tax or not?
