owh v4 alredi? Congrats!!! hello everyone !! long time no see!!! been busy abit this month, still in Singapore now and will come back probably on 29th...hope everyone and everyGPs r doing fine!

My Nao, Cyndaquil(Twinkie) and Yui are doing great under my bro's care until i got back. i made a phone call to my house and ask my bro to let them listen to me calling them and they wheek wheek happily in respond (waaargh i really miss them!!!) looking forward to cuddle them when i got back...wanna cry cos miss them too much...*sob...sob...*

um Limie...sorry i changed Twinkie's name to Cyndaquil..its my sister's request on her birthday so cannot do anything...she said Twinkie's face really look like Cyndaquil from Pokemon....huhuhu...she's the same size as Yui now, but her body is much much softer than Yui (so sedap to cuddle her!!!!) Ans her coat are silky and shiny...so adorable wan!

Found out frm previous pages that there are some new owner of GPs around here...Welcome !! other seniors hope can be good sifoo and datok here ok!! hahahaha

my GP oso can open cage door by themselves...at night i thought i oredi put them carefully in the cage next morning i see they baring2 outside the cage...then they to the "leher panjang" look for food and wheek wheek at me...aiyo so notty la they become...

aha ya lor they became pandai and braver now, especially if you got a pair or more...coz when i only got Yui as my first GP she dun dare to open the cage, but after i got 2 more then they became berani...and byk kerenah oso...haha but i think that means they're comfortable and happy with each other, so thats ok with me they're cuter when together oso!

my cage so simple wan, not like other sifu here, some of them even got a garden for their GP...(so bahagia la the GPs) kalo compare with mine....malu la...

congrates on ur new Gp sweetcat! um about your GP's choosey diet, i recommend Smoothies, like uncle Taro smoothies sold at Petshack...its mxed vege smoothies that is easy to digest and my GP loves it. As its a mixed blendered food, ur GP cannot choose the veges, so they'll eat a healthy diet. u can PM nezumitaro for more info

um i heard vaselin can help prevent ants...i try on my hamster cages n gerbils tank and i think it worked...why dun u try sapu some vaselin around ur cage? my GP cage is not on the floor, so no ant prob

i went to PLC sunway last sunday, saw quite a number of hay varieties to choose... i bought a square toilet, now trying to toilet train them using that after a number of failed attempts...hope this work coz the toilet is kinda expensive ar... i see come improvement as they start to poo insude the toilet, but they still pee elsewhere...and oso sleep and lepak on the toilet...looks more like a bed then toilet wor

yeah exactly, the petroleum jelly i use as lip balm wan.... i put all my hamsters and gerbils in my bedroom, so vaselin really helps my room and the cage/tank ant-free.try la, hope it works on your cage too...

today is hot n sunny, so i go bath my gurls...aha after i learn the right way to bath GP, now i think they got used to bathing, they looked like they like the feeling of water running over their belly and dun struggle too much ...now they are all fluffy and smells GOOD !! a gud start for the new year hehehe

aha great !!! that means there is still hope...me oso wont give up !! i noticed one of my GP (yui) did run to the toilet to poo n pee, so now only need to train nao and cyndy lao....hehe go go chia yo!!

um 1 question, can we put choker with bells to GP? i put on a self made choker with a bell on it (i used my old shoe lace) to my gp when i let them roam in the living room. after that i take it off. izzit safe ar? some of them will try to pull it out though...i put it on them coz easy to track them when they hide somewhere behind the chairs or my racks...

yes i agree with sweetcat, YOU MUST DO RESEARCH BEFORE GET GUINEA PIG !!! unprepared owner could be disaster and even horrible DEATH to the GP!! so please PLEASE vchy do read the manuals on the 1st page of this topic, you really need it. if you think you cannot handle it, u better give them to someone who really know how to rare GP. seriously i'm worried about the GP...

GP need extra time to bond with the owner, they must feel secure when around you, and the way you lift and carry them oso must me careful, and please no MESH BOTTOM CAGE!!

very good determination...gud luck!!dun worry do some reading and ask what you need to know, i'm sure someone here will help you...

the bedding is up to you, if you want to use shavings dont used frangrant shavings. CHIPSI Classic is example of good brand shaviings. but since you have small cage and if you GPs are not toilet trained, you have to put in mind that u need to replace the shavings regularly cos GP poo n pee alot...

pallet bedding is more recommended, its absorbs more moisture and wont mess around the cage coz its heavy. I now use BREEDER CELECT, its really reliable. and since its made of recycled paper, its very safe for GP...

yeah providing the best for gps are not cheap...i spend atleast rm100 a month for my gurls...they are giant-hay n pellet eater...

dun give up ya, you can do it.

food mix with nuts, grains, corn kuaci is a BIG NONONONONO~! plain HAGEN pallets specially for guinea pigs are the best for them...DO NOT FEED THEM food mix like that...better giv ur hamster instead.....grains n nuts are not good for them lo....

btw where do you live? and where do u shop 4 ur pet supplys?

you should take care of ur GP well, they are sensitive and timid creatures...they LOVE attention....and you will be happier when u see ur GP happy ma, right?

cut gp hair? i think urs r sheltie or peruvian...any pics ar? i do cut a little of Nao hair below her butt, coz it tends to kena her own pee n poo...smelly....but the rest of her hair i let it be...plus GP can barber thier own hair wan, so i let them style themselves la

um i agree that we have to properly plan when wanna add new cavy, they are social creatures but still they might dun like each other...lucky nao n yui is frenly enough to accept Cyndy whn i adopt her.

hey any1 watched "Bedtime Stories" ? its a new movie and the kids in the movie has a normal GP called Bugsy...haha not many movie has GP inside it so i got really excited...the GP is cute!! but i cant stand to watch the kids feed Bugsy marshmallow and hamburger...oh c'mon bad joke.....

WTHeck...all petshop in klang/bukit tinggi area finish stock of hagen pallet n timothy hay!!! i can only get alfalfa hay, and timothy hay cakes (tinggal 2 cakes onli...)but cannot give them alfalfa to much coz not very gud for adult GP right? aiyo what happen... i think my GP oso loose some weight...anyone near klang/bukit tinggi if you can tell me where to but hagen pallets n timothy pls tell me ya...otherwise i hv to go sunway....

to be patient and try to spend some time with them so

they'll get use to you and your smell. and they are

sensitive creatures, so its actually normal for them to

bond with you but scared with other ppl...they tend to be

close with their owner, or the one who FEED them more than

others. give them more time and attention, and feed them

yourself la, then they'll get close with you. ganbate!!



um i noticed my GPs loose a bit weight recently, i did have

a hard time finding Hagen pallets and timothy hay, but i do

have adequate supply for the time being...i'm afraid they

are stressed of something, like the whether or maybe bcozs

i'm abit busy nowadays and have less time for them than

before....i will pay more attention to them and pump them

back to happiness

yup thats her...she is still the most "manja" gp i ever had/meet so far...so adorable and her body is soft too its really a pleasure cuddling her... oh i did try to add extra floor but not very succesful lol...now still teres 1 tingkat with extended corner lol

Added on January 7, 2009, 10:04 pmthanks !! yeah i use the bookshop-class coroplast. try to find the thicker ones but...dunno where got art shops around klang. i use my washing machine's carton lid as the base, black coroplast as the bottom, and green for the sides... i'm thinking of upgrading it as i think its still too small for 3 GPs...i always give them at least half an hour roaming time in my living room every day but still feel sorry to put them in a small cubicle, not much space to jump2..hope my hamster sale will be well, coz i'll use the money for the upgrading fund...

hey hows ur GP babies? if can put some pics here la...poison me hehehe!

they are 60% toilet train....or maybe 50% ....i tried to fully toilet train them but so hard lar....i can now control where they pee, but they still poo everywhere... yes the coroplast base will get wet if they pee there. I learned that my GP will look for area with bedding to pee rather than bare areas, so what i do is to put BCelect in the square toilet and at the inner side of the cage. The rest of the area i leave bed-less. this is to provoke them to pee inside cage (in area where i put BC) rather then outside at the extended corner...

later i will decrease the area where i put BC in the cage, little by little until finally put in only in the square toilet. if i am able to achieve that i can continue my plan to cover the cage with fleece. i oso have to think of a way to teach them to fully poo inside the toilet. Now they still "tembak" anyway they please...even faster when i sweep it out.... feel like the gurls buli me ar...

um the coroplast will NOT absorb the pee i think, they are plastic....plus 1 clean in wipe till all shine shine everyday after i got home from work, so no chance it get smelly wan hahaha

really...i guess each GP is individual...so its kinda hard to toilet train them.... ;ucky they are cute so i dun really mind them bullying me hehehe
