& this is my stoRy...


Year 2005, my bf's uncLe gave me 2 guinea pigs (caught from the faRm) ..
i didn't know how to take caRe of guinea pig then...
1 of them feLL sick & died.. >_<!!!
the otheR 1 became depRessed & died few days LateR.


Year 2006, I got 3 new guinea pig!!!!
The white one is named Rex (breed: unknown??)
The black Abyssinian died shoRtLy afteR i bRought it back from the pet shop T__T Dunno y
The SheLtie died in Year 2007 (Brought it to many vets & found that he was boRn with
impeRfect moLar teeth & theRe's nothing much they can do to save it T_________T
i spoon fed him foR months tiL he died ...SobS....)


Year 2007, I decided to get Rex a wife (breed: Abyssinian).
I called her "Mommy" Guinea Pig... coz....


Nov 2007, She gave biRth to 2 daughteRs named CurLy (Breed: Abyssinian)
& SiLky (Breed: Common Guinea Pig) ^^~. Both puRe white in coLouR & has red eyes.
(Note that Both the paRents DO NOT have red eyes..-__-~)


Aug 2008, She gave biRth again to a Son (Breed: Abyssinian)
He is ALSO White in coLouR with red eyes -__-~.


March 2009, She gave biRth again to 5 babies. OnLy 2 suRvived (both white in coLouR + red eyes again)
.. the Rest suffocated & died (BLack eyes + mixed coLouR Like the Mom).
>_<~ TheRe was so much of bLood! 1 of the suRvivoRs was weak & neaRLy died...
had to be spoon fed miLk with bRead eveRy 2 to 3 houRs (She is caLLed MiLky a.k.a Roti).

Hence, I'm giving up on bReeding Rex (3 yeaRs oLd now). >_<~
I have no choice but to put my guinea pigs up for adoption =( *heaRtbRoken*
(the maLes weRe fighting amongst each otheR oveR the femaLes &
I have many otheR pets to caRe foR ; 5 dogs & 2 chinchiLLas)
CuRLy & siLky has been adopted by my fRiend.
The Son(to be neuteRed next week) & his new baby sisteR wiLL be given to my cousin.
(Wasn't easy to to Look foR ppL who R wiLLing to adopt red eyed guinea pigs).

I'LL be keeping Rex, the Mommy, MiLky a.k.a Roti & ELvis (Breed: PeRuvian)
I Got him in YeaR 2008...

I got him fRom The Pets WondeRLand in MidvaLLey MegaMaLL...
They toLd me he was a Rex as weLL...
But as his haiR gRew LongeR and LongeR, he staRted Looking Like a TexeL?







I didn't know what to caLL him... the vet asked me what his name was...
And the 1st thing that came to my mind was... REX!!!! LOLS!
I'm staRting to think he is mixed...
I reaLLy reaLLy reaLLy x1000 wanna bReed him coz he's so Rare!!!! but i faiLed T__T~
(aLready 3 yRs oLd)

Now, his haiR is shoRt... It's too diRty to keep it Long...
That's y i tRained him to stay in "pLay dead" position...so that I can trim his haiR

I was seaRching for a PeRuvian wife foR his yeaRs ago but it wasn't easy to find a feMaLe 1... I got a maLe 1 instead...
He is aLready 3 yeaRs oLd... i'm giving up hope of continuing his Line.. T__T

weLL... i had to tRim the bottom paRt of his haiR weeKLy.. as u can see.. it keeps tuRning yeLLow..
so I have to oveRturn him aLL the time tiL he got used to it... i just have to say "STAY"
... then he wiLL stay for a whiLe .....but not foR toO Long...

ActuaLLy.. theRe's no speciaL technique to train him to do that O_o

I had to trim the bottom paRt of his haiR reguLaRLy
Kept tuRning him over untiL he got used to it...

He actuaLLy doeSn't Like being upside down Like that...
Sometimes he wiLL not stay foR Long...

p/s: y isn't it good to feed them bRead?

I think he is about 900g ++ onLy... Looks big coz of his haiR.. he has ALOT of haiR LOLS!!!!

Confession... it depends what kinda guinea pig u R Looking foR.

The Pet Safari @ Ikano Power, Damansara ... these few famous pet shops will have guinea pigs but I guess will be moRe expensive than otheR smaLLeR pet shops...

I saw quite a few Guinea Pigs that's being put up for adoption in the Adoption thRead O_o!
Anyways... Pet Family and Pets WondeRland don't always take very good care of theiR GPs... once I saw one that was ill & infested with fleas... I took a pic and repoRted to SPCA... I think the GP died the next day >_<~

Kaoru himuRa.. I did read about that toO... that it's Risky to Let a femaLe bReed for the 1st time afteR 9 months oLd.. but I guess uRs is aRound 9 months... stiLL not too oLd.. peRhaps she'LL be ok?

BTW... I bRought my GP to see Dr. Jenny today... O_o She's on duty today as weLL... usuaLLy i Take them to Dr Yeoh @ Tmn Megah...

Today was my 1st tRip to Dr. Jenny's .... so I'm not too suRe but i heaRd she's goOd...
I know Dr. Yeoh is good but moRe expensive... I've been to Dr. Yeoh's severaL times...

BTW... why is it that ppL usuaLLy ask for a pack of pet food in exchange for adopting theiR pets? Just out of cuRiousity...

Wahhhhh... I didn't know that's the reason!!!
When I gave up my guinea pigs for adoption and I even had to give them the cage + wateR bottLe + food bowL + few days food suppLy... coz I wanted them to take good caRe of my GP >_<~

YAA!!!!!! Mine died coz his teeth was born deformed! He kept losing weight & i bRought him to the vet MANY times..
I had to BLend his pellets... make vegetaable/fruit juice & spoon feed him daiLy but he died eventuaLLy...
The vet couLdn't do much for him eitheR coz suRgeRy couLdn't even fix his teeth peRfectLy...

I stiLL feeL bad about it because I think he was supposed to die eaRLier... but I kept foRce feeding him and taking him to the vet to tRy and save him... so He Lived on for quite a few months.. but i think he suffeRed aLot because of that >_<~
T____T SOBSssss I'm so sOrryyyyyy GP .....

Yaaa... 1 week onLy... she needs more time... She is stiLL adapting to the new environment... even my old GPs sometimes do run away from me... LOLs..

LOLs Feon2.. i'm not very good with giving names to GP ... in fact i haRdLy name mine coz I just caLL them "cutie" or "stinky/smeLLy" when they smeLL bad... HAhaha!
Most of theiR names weRe given RANDOMLy.. when the vet asked me to registeR theiR names... I can't possibLy put Cutie/Stinky/SmeLLy or watever manja names i call them... *paiseh*

What about MOCHA? although his CoLour Looks moRe Like a Cappuccino or a Latte~

Sometimes ...they just don't get aLong... that's aLL

MaLe GPs tend to fight with each otheR oveR femaLes & teRRitoRy..etc..
it's theiR instinct...
FemaLe GPs don't fight that much ...maybe oveR food & space..

If they don't fight that aggressiveLy... I guess it shouLdn't be much pRob.. I did not sepaRate my feMaLe GPs

I had no choice but to sepaRate my maLe ones coz they fought tiL they BLeed + injuRed...
I have Like 4 cages now -_~

aLready given up 2 for adoption few months ago.. Left 6 GP's.. giving 2 moRe away to my cousin soon..

i have 4 maLe GP's !!!! and they fight aLot -__~ Rex's eaR is aLready tatteRed...
so I have 1 maLe GP in each cage.. and i put the cages side by side... so they don't get LoneLy..

My femaLe GP's do peck on each otheR or kick each OtheR when they R not wiLLing to shaRe the same house/food bowL...
But they didn't actuaLLy huRt each otheR... so I did not sepaRate them.. I don't want them to get LoneLy..

In fact... the new owneR of my 2 femaLe GPs says that they haRdLy fight now. I guess they got cLoser to each otheR
afteR shifting to a new enviROnment/owneR...

she may not Last a day or so without wateR...
U might need to use a shRinge to foRce heR to dRink water.
