Having 2 GPs was like having bunch of dogs now...kekeke...overprotective owner that is why sometimes felt so stress when the GP shy away from me...I will try my best to face the stress and spend more time with them... gambateh to all new owners~~

just spray your gp coat with ridset except its head area..then use tuala balut its body for a while..let its head out..mayb for 5 minutes..then bath ur gp..that will do..

Yeah,agree to CKW008. Not to give GP any shot until the totally no choice as pain can cause gps stress as per advice from Vet Dr.Mervin. and i think the vet should told the owner that,there are risk for gp to take any shot and the recover chances are only 50-50(if the gp are in serious condition).

As i understand from Dr.Jenny, Bayer advantage is control medicine and only those shop wt vets and vet's lesan can have it. I'm actually giving this treatment to my gps every 3 mths to prevent them are free frm lice and mite. If gps already have lice or mite, then need to take the treatment according Vet's advice.

The of 1 tiub is 4ml if not mistaken, and it apply depends on the size of gp. Usually vets will take syringe(without needle) to pull and apply it on the back of gp so that they could not lick it. I got it frm Dr.Jenny and it cost abt rm15 per tiub.

super risky oh .......even human...while we are spraying the ridset in the room. We also feel hard to tahan leh. Personal opition, strong disagree even i'm not sure whether is it effective or not. We cannot stop the gps to lick their body after we spray and have to aim the targeted area very very tepat and make sure the gp will not move while u spray.

I started toilet trained Jasper and Jingle last year Nov and seems it is not successful yet.

As everyday, i was cleaning and picking up all the wet beddings and poos for Jasper and Jingle. I will feed them vegs and fruits before i start my job so that they will not kacau me while i cleaning. Both of them enjoying their foods at the food tray,suddently Jingle running so fast from food tray to the toilet bowl (a bit far distance as both are located at the opp.end in the cage) and climb up on the toilet bowl and stay there. I though she was playing herself there so i didnt paid attention on her.

Suddently i heard some water droping sounds......and look at Jingle. Her butt is facing out the toilet bowl and her face facing inside the toilet bowl and she pee hahahahahaha....i totally cannot tahan and laugh so loud 

After they finish the vegs and fruits, Jasper was climb on the toilet bowl and shacking his body and making some rumble sounds and Jingle was running to him and licking Jasper's front neck (like cleaning for Jasper) and after that d other way round pula....Jingle was lying down and Jasper licking her ear pula....hahahahahaha....so sweet

hehe thanks for the advice   she's bonding with me just fine up until now. very happy with it! 
alright, will do. btw how often should i clean the cage (throw away the hay n the corn bedding) ? the guy at the petstore said twice a month would good enough, but i've read somewhere we should clean it once a week. so i'm confused  and if my GP eat those hay that she peed on, would it harm her in any way? Sorry if i ask alot but thats what the first-timer father would do right. lol

i will follow your advice not to use corn bedding in the future. will try to use shaved pine as i read it doesnt harm GP (and its cheaper too! )

yep that one is pallet bowl. its metal btw. i think i'd stick to that one for a while. no budget liao to go out and find a nice bowl for Coco. Overspent already. hehe.

btw can i use normal rabbit pallet from those aquarium shop? currently i'm feeding coco with pellet i got from the same petshop i got Coco which is quite pricey for me

so hard to be a father and a student at the same time. 

yeah,Dr.Mervin is from Hand n Paws but he is more specialist in dogs and cats. Dr.Mervin recommand me wait for Dr.Jenny is better because Dr.Jenny will be more specialist on small animal as like gp, sugar gliders, ferret,hamster and etc. Dr.Jenny is will be there only on sunday and monday.

consultation fees i cant really remember coz i didnt keep the receipt, but my last visit wt both of Jasper and Jasper, taking deworm and Bayer Advantage treatment (2 tiubs), normal checking and nail trimming cost me less then rm50 in total.

You can call 1st before u went there is better.

i'm taking them to Hand n Paws at Aman Suria(near Tropicana). My house is nearby and the 1st i went there all the vets there are so nice and patient enough to explain and guide you how to take care your pets. Their charges are not expensive, usually it will not cost me more then rm50 in total for both my gps(included 2 Bayer Advantage,deworm,normal checking on the gps).

Even i called Dr.Jenny for emergency for Jingle last time at night aft 8pm, the charges is less then rm100.

Reasonable chagres, friendly and patient vets make me there and no matter how long is the que is for seeing them, i will wait.

I have been another vets before(which is near by there also when Hand n Paws is close and i do not have the Dr.Jenny'shandphone number at that time)and i got a super bad service and treatment. Finally Jingle's mother RIP also as the vets did not do anything on the Joy(Jingle's mother)but just provide some kind of antibiotic which is not fot gps.
When i bring Joy to Hand n Paws on the next day, Dr.Mervin pour out some of the antibiotic and see, there are some powder forms things in the antibiotic and even Dr.Mervin also dunno what is that antibiotic for.

I have finish the c&c cage for my gp on monday, here is some pics XD

the biggest size of coroplast i can found just 3 feet, i buy 3 and sambung them together XD

the inner part still a lot of empty, for me is quite boring, i like deco=_=
but my gp loves the space, she always popcorning excitedly which i seldom saw b4 (she live inside a big plastic container b4, poor her)

Gp are quite sensitive, if they are not used to travelling they can get stressed, more over insufficient space or smaller cage oso can make them feel stressed. how old are your GP? you can try but if you see any sign of stress like refuse eating, weight lost, diarhea(um i dont know if this spells right) you should avoid doing so. my 3 females are used to traveling, so its not a problem for them, but i only start bringing them along with me when i feel like they already bond with me, um around 3months after i bring them home.

my gps does that too...he's enjoying himself i think. when GP are happy they will run n jump(popcorn) like  they are in fire, so cute n pelik oso hahaha  if there are more then 1 gp in a cage oso became more haywire...they'll run n chase and jump onto each other untill the bedding n pellet oso terbang.....

can i ask u use wat to bathe them?

Last night trying to clear the poos and let my GPs on the floor for exercise...after I clean the cage and clear the poos...I picked up Bugsy and want to put her into the cage and she open her mouth so wide than i can see her teeth...and gnaw on my finger....luckily I "shim" fast enough or else will going to see doc then...no sound from her she just bite me.this is second time lo... Then Bubble is always hide in a box whenever I near the cage. Only food time they will come near me very near indeed... Wai sek chu~~ Both have so much different character...

i got a dilemma here my gf told me the food that she bought at pet family for GP are not so suitable for them as they contains seeds and bean that they are not suppose to eat( they kinda look like those hamster mix variety of food that contains alot of seed,kua che type like that but we bought is for the GP)so was thinking of changing their food to Hagen Guinea Pig Pellets which is just rm4 more expensive then Pet family own packed food. better to be safe then to sorry cuz rm 4 is not really alot so i was thinking why take the risk?so guys and girl can i have ur opinion on this?and would like to know what dry food do u guys feed ur GP other then hays??

if they feel something different from the skin of the GP can assume they are some sort of dirt or insect cuz my dog always got insect biting on his head and usually u can feel it some kind of thing when u touch it.if ur gp trust u enough u can try to squeeze it gentlely see if there are any movement if so then it definitely an insect

I kept rabbit before.  The key differences are:-

Rabbit does not required high vitamin C at all time.  GP does.
Male rabbit  bites - 90% GP doesn't.

LIMIE feed this brand, if I'm not mistaken.

This brand is quite expensive as compared to Hagen.  But I don't know why it doesn't have the green freshness smell like Hagen pellets have. 

Last time I wanted to buy this brand when I read the marketing text on the net.  Sound very good and nutritious.  After I had seen the real pellets, I'm not convinced it is any better than Hagen pellets with its higher price.

GPs, know how to choose they fave food...watever they like they hamtam all those left out are their enemy food...hahahaha

Yes, wheat grass. Very easy to grow, but make sure you grow in good soil, and monitor the mold. The mold will get your GP sick. Use winter wheat grain.  If you just want to make it for fun, get a tiny pot, fill with good soil, within 7 days, you can harvest your first wheat grass for you self and your pet.

wow~ we talking about growing plants now to feed GP's! XD cool! imagine this > GP poo > fertilize > then feed plant to GP... Saving worrr XD

since u guys been talking bout hagen pellets, i wanna ask something.

i'm using hagen pellets too for my GP. she was eating it alot. but since i've been handfeeding her carrots and fresh veggies, now i seldom see her jump into feeding bowl and eat the pellets. only when i put the fresh pellets, she will eat. not the old one. haih. should the pellet served fresh daily? how about the leftovers? should i throw out? :-s aiyo so rugi.

and one more thing. i'm using sun dried alfalfa for my GP. this is the same scenario also. she only eats the fresh one out of the plastic bag. and left those big big "dahan" of alfalfa behind. GP dont eat those big dried alfalfa dahan? only the small dried leafs (and the small dahan)?
