Congratulation to Carol, they are really cute babies GP.Are they mixed Peru with American breed?

i want to share my GP's pic too . here they are Cucci and Prada
After i bought them to the vet, the vet told me they are male .i was tot they are female, coz the pet keeper told me they are female when the time i bought them home.

Cucci with light brown colour.Cucci breed is American GP
Prada which has dark brown colour .

After the first check up on last Sunday, the vet told Cucci has mites on his nose, so that he took a jab and the vet compliment Cucci very brave GP..hehe..

Instead of Prada seem look very scare...but the vet said him "very Chubby" he has white kutu and he took ADVANTAGE med on his skin..but today i found that around his one eye on the upper part just besides the eye has an area of his skin barely lost his fur..dunno whether is it because all the kutu ran to the area and make him feel very itchy..and he cabut the fur...aiks..a bit worry with that..was tot would be fine after took the med on his skin.

the last pic shown that Prada left eye has full of fur around his left eye..but the on top the 2 pics could be compared that the upper part of the right eye had lost the certain amount of fur

Thanks Scorpgal, the babies are actually normal/short hair mixed wt Sheltie.

You gps are so cute, i like Prada's colour.
Which vets u went to? Do the vet noticed abt the problem of Prada also? Bayer Advantage so far is the best treatment for mites, lice for gps. You must clean their cage also after they came back from the treatment (frm vets) because they cage might also have the kutu. If possible, after u clean the cage, you can dry it under sun so that all the hidden kutu will kill also.

No worries, they will recover soon.

ohh...Wondering how will they look like when they grown big.their fur will be shorter than sheltie breed?

i went to Dr. Jenny in HANDS N PAWS.yup, after treatment i went to Sunway Piramid for shopping n bought white vinegar for cleaning the cages..there were in the cage together right after treatment in my car for few hours, when i bring them home i quickly cleaned the cage and separated them..now Prada in a aquarium tank for temporarly..this sunday i need to bring Cucci for second jab..should i bring Prada go as well, coz he seem has skin again..dunno whether is it normal after treatment?jenny said the Prada has white kutu only.so Prada took the BAYER ADVANTAGE n DEWORM.

I think as long as 4-5 weeks old, able to eat and drink themself should be ok to separate them from mother already. Jingle's parent left her(RIP) when she was 10 days old, i have taking care of her by feeding her pallet, hay and Heiz vegetable baby paste (human baby vegs paste in glass bottle) to replace mother milk daily. I feed the baby paste until she refuse to take and replace wt fresh vegs and fruits(she dont eat vegs and fruits until i bring Jasper back to influence her).

My degree Marketing Strategy exam is on tomorrow but i have not prepare yet. tongue.gif
I cant focus on my study but keep on doing my work(work at home since i'm on study leave)and thinking the suitable cage for 4 of my piggies tongue.gif ......thinking whether should i separate them father and son 1 cage, mother and daughter 1 cage or putting them together as happy family in big big cage. My hubby said he dont really feel to separate them and coming when we have more grand grand grand childrens, just put for adoption to gps lover, but i know when the times come, for sure i dont feel to let go them tongue.gif
Terrible lah me mad.gif but i cant control myself. sad.gif
*
LOL..same to me..i've been thinking for make better cage for my GPs..hehe
stop thinking that anyway, u should focus on ur exam right now...wish u luck for ur exam.

aww..that's so sad... I do sneeze sometimes when i'm cLeaning theiR cages but it's nothing too seRious...

Did u aLL know that Dr. Jenny is aLLergic to GP's?
*
YES, I KNOW...haha..she is allergic to GP,especially when the GP have lice or mite ..i was told her i got itch everytime i play with my Prada..she said she has same situition with me..she is very "Professional" thumbup.gif even thought she has allergic but still doing her job..maybe that why u guys keep promoting her.

my GP's Prada is the ABBY breed and the Cucci is AMERICAN breed.

sometimes i aslo sneezing a lot, even for whole day,so therefor i'm very used to it. for my situition not suppose to have GP..but still feeling wan to have them with me.

Sorry Emily for the late reply, as what you told me before....u calm down. As i know both of them not the 1st time staying at Colin's there right? So i think it should not be any problem, remember to take some Alfalfa and Timothy hay either then pallets for them also. After all the checking at Dr.Jenny there, you bring them back faster and let them rest with maybe light off or put down the blink, i mean just give them a relax environment and let them calm down. If they calm down and have enough of rest, they will come out for food. As long as they eat as normal, it should not be a problem.

Jasper last visiting to vets is even worse, taking abt 4-5 hrs to check him and taking x-ray. All this checking is not done only at Hand n Paws but also need to go to Dr.Yeoh there for taking a x-ray film and after taking the x-ray film we need to go back Hand n Paws again for Dr.Jenny to see the film and do some final checking before giving medicine. Jingle was pregnant at that time and she is also there with us as well. So pity her, cant rest even pregnant and some more need to go here and there with me waiting Jasper checking and etc.

But both of them are ok at the day even Jasper was sick. Maybe i should thanks god on this but sometimes we must believe them. We know it is not good for them but still we have to do it as we have no choice. I believe that they will understand us.

kah you emily  icon_rolleyes.gif

Why Jasper need to take x-ray?what was the problem with Jasper?and Why need to take x-ray film from Dr Yeoh and then only go to Dr.Jenny?are they known each other?how much it's cost for x-ray and the consultation fee?

Is it normal for GP loose fur everywhere?
*
well..i think is normal just like human's hair circulation.as long as not seeing a skin area with barely no fur on it..then it's just fine.

I think its normal for GP to drop a lot of fur, as long as they are not sccratching a lot. Since yours scratch a lot maybe it has a skin problem?

Added on April 17, 2009, 10:40 amBy the way, not sure this is related or not, but I read that Hagen pellet is not that good for guinea pig due to some of the ingredients they use.
*
what are the ingredients are not good for them?then which brand is good besides sluig?my GP dont eat Hagen pallet ..maybe they so good in picking the quality food. laugh.gif maybe i should let them eat more hay than pallet..dont need to worry the healthy problem.
