What sort of bedding? I dont think its required at all coz the main point of getting the fleece is to be the bedding XD I put place mats after my fleece blush.gif so the fleece stays in place nod.gif

can i keep one gp only or is it advisable to keep two at once?
*
The TS spent such a long time to decorate the first page with so much info... you all dowan to read arr sad.gif
I will just quote this from - http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm

QUOTE
Guinea pigs are a social, herd animal. They do better in groups. A pair of guinea pigs is a better option than just one. There are a number of issues to weigh on both sides of the one or two cavy question. Bottom line, the decision for just one is usually the result of what is best for you. The decision for two is usually the result of what is best for the guinea pig. We usually go with what is best for the guinea pigs. If you cannot provide the best possible life for the animals, then perhaps you should consider an animal that would be happier living within your constraints. That may sound tough, but it's worth thinking about. Any responsible rescue will try to guide you to an animal that works well for your situation.

thats why i asked again~

cos i notice that some ppl keeping one only~

for ur infor sugar~
i always do research 1st b4 getting them pets...
*
Is good that you research.. rclxms.gif FYI.. i like pointing ppl to the right direction than to point them to the wrong direction too..
Also we cant just limit ourselves to reading pages here at LYN. There are a whole lot of other info out there nod.gif There are also people who buy pets on the impulse (here in LYN) and end up knowing nothing.

@chabby - It isnt a lecture at all. Im explaining to you as a friend and as an avid pet lover. Look at what it has done to you now smile.gif a good GP owner.. am i right? I dislike flaming.. i consider my posts as constructive response for those who are not aware. The very first info i read on GP's was 1 year ago smile.gif and i just got my GP end of last year smile.gif thats how long my research was. I was just waiting for the right time till i was ready to own them.

another question..
where do u all get ur gp from?

how bout the setups?
i thking of getting from pet shacks the rm250 one

will tat be ok for two gp?
*
The petshack kits are good~ but i dunno the exact measurements of the cage in feet.. im bad in maths tongue.gif 2 piggies.. urm 3ft or more is just nice.. So they can run around..

Petshack got sell GP also nod.gif maybe you can go there have a look~ A lot of petshop sells piggies, just make sure they are in good health and shape.. its also nice to take them to the vet after they are settled in.. Just to make sure they are ok.

I think it will be a debatable thing whether to house them inside or out. But by the looks of Juz's cages they look safe.. but i still will worry about the predators. I remember you telling me about that wild monkey rite Juz? About whether conditions if that is how far your porch is.. then definetly wont kena the rain.. or direct sunlight. But then again i would still prefer them to be housed inside.. leaving the house.. i know for sure they will be safe..

I like to see pets in Pet Safari coz the saleman there seem experince la...at least I ask q at the first time I was there they take their time to explain about everything to me.I like their guinea pigs.Very cute and active...and once I been there and wanted to buy one piggie but it just sit in the food bowl and dun move...and he said tak boleh jual la...dia tu sakit...Then I said ok la..but at least he is honest la did not sell me the sick piggie. Wonder wat happen to that piggie...and another one I want to buy he said reserve...so end up I went to Pet Family and got mine.
Regarding the cage, I would advise to DIY cage than buy the commercial cage. It is expensive and not flexible lo...you can design the cage lo...I bought everything at one shot it cost about Rm299.00 a big cage that can fit in 2 piggies, food bowl(small) and bedding Breeder Celect. The cage alone already takes abt RM160.00.I guess I spend alot for them...hahaha...So good luck for your to hunt ur cage...
*
Really experience ke? I dunno every time i go there and ask questions sure they blur blur one. Then put so many GP's in one tank.. aiyo.. so kesian.

hey all, i'm new here.i've been reading this forum for a period of time and finally I bought a guinea pig from Pet Safari since two weeks ago.
the reason i like GP is because of their sound..but i only have one GP so far..been observe my GP less wheeking nowadays..is it because she not feel hungry or lonely or sick?she look quiet and sleepy all the time.maybe i should bring her to the vet for check up.
*
Grats on the new addition.. Usually they wheek for attention & food. Mainly its always food tongue.gif If you think there might be something wrong with her, there is no harm to bring her to a vet. You can try bringing her to Dr Jenny @ Hands n Paws.

yup..i think so..she suppose to have a check up right after i bought her back.but wonder do GP active in daytime?coz my GP seem always sleep n eat only.if i put her outside for excercise..she just stand at a place without move.
anyway i think she need check coz she has wetty eye. sometimes the "tahi mata" making she cant open her eyelid.and she might have mite or kutu..not really sure about it..coz she has a lot tiny things on her fur. sad.gif
*
GP's are diurnal.. means active during the daytime and partially active at nite.. I think better just go have a check up.. dont wait too late ^^

my GP jz died today afternoon.

so.. im wondering.. whether i need anor for my other GP for companion?

Any idea what was the cause of death? Leave the partner a few days and see how it reacts. If he/she appears mellow and not eating.. you could try introducing it a new friend smile.gif
