Hi, Someone email to and ask for help. I posted here for more comments Hi Louis, Thank you. Yes, according to the records from Paws he is 3 years old. When I adopted him, he has very bad tartar, however I have sent him for scaling. Anyway, my problems are.... 1) he does not listen to my instruction religiously - meaning sometimes when I ask him to sit he will sit, sometimes he look very blur, like he does not understand me. I am not sure what language he is accustomed to previously. 2) he pees at the tray i provided for him but he poos everywhere around the house. So, now I take him out every morning to poo. But sometime at night he also poos. 3) he eats his own poo and also I caught him drinking his pee. He only does this when at home, not outside. 4) very difficult to catch him in the act because he does not do it when I am observing him. Yesterday, I switch off the lights but I quietly spy on him, then only I caught him drinking his pee. 5) if i put him in the cage, he does not protest but he does not know how to go in and out by himself. 6) he is very timid and get frighten easily. 7) when i play with him, he gets bored within 30 seconds, but if i have treats in my hand, then he will be excited but also after 2 minutes, he is not longer interested. What should I do? |

QUOTE(sinv @ Jan 8 2009, 09:45 PM) Hi, Someone email to and ask for help. I posted here for more comments Hi Louis, Thank you. Yes, according to the records from Paws he is 3 years old. Anyway, my problems are.... 1) he does not listen to my instruction religiously - meaning sometimes when I ask him to sit he will sit, sometimes he look very blur, like he does not understand me. I am not sure what language he is accustomed to previously. Is the dog being trained b4 this guy adopted?what language he obey b4 this?ask the previous owner. PAtient is important as this dog is new to you and he dont understand ur language n ur voice. teach patiently as u are dealing with an adult dog. it's always harder to train an adult dog compare to puppy. 2) he pees at the tray i provided for him but he poos everywhere around the house. So, now I take him out every morning to poo. But sometime at night he also poos. Again, is this his habit since he is in his previous home? Train patiently and give him time as he is at a totally new environment n left the home he been staying for 3 years. 3) he eats his own poo and also I caught him drinking his pee. He only does this when at home, not outside. eat poo, could be digestion problem, if so, change the dog food; else, it could be due to stress or bored. Drink pee, im not too sure, where does the dog pee?Try wee wee pad as it can absorb the dog pee fast. 4) very difficult to catch him in the act because he does not do it when I am observing him. Yesterday, I switch off the lights but I quietly spy on him, then only I caught him drinking his pee. hm..cos they are smart. they know they are wrong and don't want to do in front of u 5) if i put him in the cage, he does not protest but he does not know how to go in and out by himself. again, did the previous owner cage him? This might be the 1st time he sees cage?hehe how u expect hm to know before even teaching? 6) he is very timid and get frighten easily. i would said, lack of social or owner being too protective. Bring him out to mix with other dog more. 7) when i play with him, he gets bored within 30 seconds, but if i have treats in my hand, then he will be excited but also after 2 minutes, he is not longer interested. get him some interesting toys to try. What should I do?all the above Wow, you answers all, thanks and i already ask the owner to see this page. |

QUOTE(iluv2zzz @ Jan 21 2009, 11:39 PM) I think Sinv concern about getting virus infected at groomer place because the puppy is not fully protected with 3 vaccins. Not can groom or cannot groom Oic, I can't tahan white very easy to get dirty, now I'm using Chris Christensen White on White, Thick n Thicker and Ice on Ice to protect coat from urine and dirt stains. After bath 3 days later become cream or yellow colour, I waiting Angel become adult then change to bleach shampoo.![]() ![]() ![]() Collie. QUOTE(huey80 @ Jan 22 2009, 11:29 PM) Louis, u went to the old or new branch for grooming? I went to new branch coz more nicer and bigger but groomer quite young. Old branch groomer very experience. U looking white poodle?Added on January 22, 2009, 11:53 pm i voiced out that i hate milo's wet & smelly muzzle and his almost botak foot after non-stop biting/licking. Val recommended clean face & feet lo. But i still prefer his old look...cuter!! i'm very frustrated with him nowadays...he licks every darn thing..from floor to our feet. Dunno if he is trying to get our attention or not but he is definitely getting a lot of scoldings n punishments from us....ARGHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Added on January 23, 2009, 12:50 pmThey advice don't shave all fur become botak, of course new fur grow is look thicker but texture very very rough and some new fur is damaged to different direction some to right , left ,up and down .... looked very rough. If want become thicker and curly after 4 months old just regular trimming the result is same ,even fur looked more tidy coz all grow to same direction. I experienced before. Rui Rui coat now is a lots , thicker , curly but texture not nice compare with Collie and Cherrie both new coat also thicker, curly ,tidy and more smooth. Even no need shaved all the new fur colour also darker just because baby fur covered. If poodle growth till 4 months old bring to trimming can also see the colour darker.Last time my Cherrie color blackie brown after trimming all the baby fur coat colour is darker. Some poodle coat after 3 months old new fur growing and old fur break , that might need to shave.
