lolx.....i think i should feed vava twice a day dy.....cos she very "tam chiak po".......feel heart pain also gv her eat too little..... cry.gif

Added on November 17, 2008, 11:31 pm

o....innova.....so ur dogs love them??? cos my vava very picky....sometimes headache also..... rclxub.gif
*
be innova i was feeding Orijen. Orijen is the best taste kibbles that he could have. he love it so much even after he tasted reall meat that my mum gave. but after more studies then i realised i should not give orijen which contains too high protein. worry that his kidney cannot take it.
so switching from orijen to innova is a little difficult. cos he dunwan innova but i have no choice. innova is a good brand and i wan him to eat. so now still mixing abit of orijen to his innova, now he finish all his meal already.

sinv, ur amos's color still as deep as in pic..?
i saw many poodle fade till almost white =.=
*
the pic was taken this year Jun. Jun still dark. after dogathon shaved liao new fur fade. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
blame that groomer!!!!!!!!!! ban that groomer!!!!!!
my suggestion, if u were to shaved ur poodle botak, ask them to use scissor instead of shaver. i really find shaver make his fur rough and grow alot white fur. Shayne mummy said ice also like that. but ice cream in color not obvious.

If you are going to feed kibble, the cheaper the food, the more filler there is... which also means that you scoop more poop when you feed these poorer quality foods, sometimes double the amount of poop to clean up! Top quality foods will have the first ingredient listed as a meat meal of some kind; for instance: chicken meal, fish meal, lamb meal, etc. This is important, because by the time the meat is dehydrated into meal, it is a very dense source of nutrition. If a bag of dog food has simply "chicken" listed as a first ingredient, then by the time it is made into kibble, it will be much farther down in the ingredient list, making it very likely that the main source of the food is grains such as corn, wheat or rice. And while grains can be ok, your poodle is a CARNIVORE, meaning that it's main food source should be meat, not grains!

And by the way, "chicken byproduct meal" is NOT considered to be a quality ingredient, as it is made up of all manner of parts that aren't all that great, such as the feet, heads, feathers, intenstines, etc. You want a kibble that proudly boasts "human grade ingredients used".

Many kibbles have a lot of chemical preservatives in them, which gives a long shelf life of up to two years. BUT they are likely the leading cause of skin allergies or other digestive allergies in dogs. Natural preservatives such as rosemary, vitamin E or other herbs will generally have a shelf life of six months or so... so it needs to be bought from a place that has a good turn-over of stock and then used up.

Examples of low quality foods to avoid: Anything you can find in a grocery store will be low end, Purina, Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, Royal Canin, Pedigree, Kibbles n' Bits, Beneful, Ol'Roy.

Examples of high quality foods to look for: Innova, Wellness, Solid Gold, Canidae All Life Stages, Fromm Four Star, Merrick, GO Natural, Nature's Variety Prairie, Nature's Logic, Artemis Fresh Mix.

A great option is to go with an entirely grainless diet. Many of the high quality foods now put out grainless formulas. Some good grainless diets include: Innova EVO, Wellness CORE, Blue Wilderness, Nature's Variety Instinct, Orijen, Horizon Legacy, Merrick Before Grain, Canidae Grain Free All Life Stages, Fromm Surf & Turf, Now! and Sold Gold Barking At The Moon, Taste of the Wild.

nevermind, at least now no more misunderstanding, and vava is not being tortured LOL..

Actually I believe the dog gene/bone structure that causes how big the adult size will be. It got nothing to do with feed more or less. If adult size is small because feed less during puppy time, I think not that healthy. I know there are some that eats normally, still grow small in size.

Same like human, some eat 4 meals a day also slim and pretty, but some super on diet still very hard to get slim.
*
human but adult le. i remember small time i damn fat 1, then i control my diet during 12-13years old. then after that canoot fat anymore.

to me, feeding matters too. im not saying that we should underfeed our dog to control their size, we have to at least give them enough food. but over feeding do really make some dog bigger in size, i don't mean all dog here, maybe some of the dog are meant to be small in their gene, they mite be over feed till bigger in size than their parent/how they supposed to be but yet still small if we see them comparing to other bigger dog. How can u judge that not overfeeding that make the dog bigger in their size than how big they supposed to be?lol.
