Xbox 360 Falcon Set, 3RoD Question ............

Hey guys, i'm new to Xbox and i'm currently set to purchase the 60GB Falcon Set from Bernard Moh , but i would like to know whether this new Falcon set still prone to 3RoD since the motherboard is quiter and cooler?
Oh and what actually causes this goddamn 3RoD thingy? And how do i prevent it? Oh and i heard you can't play the Xbox 360 for too long since it'll overheat and become more prone to 3RoD, so how long is the longest you can ON the 360?
