Just wanted to give an independent review on Phottix Battery Grip BP-550D ( BG-E8). While I didn't buy from the seller here in Lowyat, I have to say the build quality of the battery grip is quite commendable. It fit snugly into the 550D body where the socket mounts without much hassle and the tripod screw locks into place. The actual battery grip itself, not sure if it is plastic or rubber feels good in the hand. While the position of the buttons are quite ergonomic. However, since everyone is buying the battery grip, I guess it is better to get an additional battery to take advantage of the extra battery slot.
