Getting Started

Hi recently I face this errant virus/malware that named google.htm / google.jpg / recycler, etc thing. It also has a hidden Autorun.inf file to run another file called wscript.vbs. It is usually spreaded when the user double-click the drive letter of the infected device, and it will disable the msconfig command and Folder Option from explorer on the infected PC.
There were quite many PCs infected and it took me hours to remove it. Main reason of spreading is through the use of portable storage like USB harddisk, thumbdrive and memory card. I am thinking if any software out there would have the capability to be installed on them and run scan automatically whenever a file is to be opened. Any recommendation or suggestion for better workaround?
I know there's this Sandisk thumbdrive that has U3 which then has the antivirus software. However, it doesn't apply for USB harddisk and different types of memory card.
Seriously need some help here. Any suggestions are appreciated!!
Regards, Joseph

ninja pendisk -> http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Ninja-Pendisk.shtmlCODE The freeware zero-configuration program designed for guarding computers against viruses transmitted by USB pendisks.
Ninja Pendisk awaits quietly in the system tray for the times whenever a USB pendisk is inserted on the computer which will be examined to uncover the commonly malicious or virulent files known as "autorun.inf" and "ctfmon.exe" amongst many others.
To keep everything simple, Ninja Pendisk is self-contained, fully portable, and will require no installation.
Besides removing known virulent files, Ninja Pendisk will also immunize your pendisk and create a folder called autorun.inf with special protection permissions to protect your pendisk from being infected again when plugged on contaminated computers. I'm using it. It works not just for USB drives, but also on removable memory cards/removable disks

if you have to handle multiple PC (e.g cybercafe, comp lab), disable autorun features for removable drive using TweakUI (if you're using XP) and, set your anti-virus setting to scan file each time they're being open, modified or created. a lil' slow on performance. as for the question, no. portable anti-virus didn't have the capability to scan automatically. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « ninja pendisk/other similar - its a facking simple software told to delete autorun.inf on sight. it's like 10% of what real anti-virus capable of. UPDATE your anti-virus and forget about this phoney software. i don't like having 4-6 stupid software for multiple thing that 1 software could handle. I worry my pendrive will be infected when I plug it into other computers. Should I install Ninja pendrive AV also into my pendrive so that my pendrive is protected whenever it is plugged into other computers that infected?
