short shifter just shorten the travel distance between gear positions.
for example : a stock shifter might have 15mm of travel from the center to 2rd gear. a short shifter might have 10mm or less travel for the same gear. |

lol .. u can already get the hint lor .. the gear stick have nothing to do with the short shifter .. they just shorten the part under the gear stick ..its more like ... user comfortable with which one..

yes it attached but can be open ...some mechanic just cut it shorter and weld it back .. didnt even open the thing ..
