Hi Scanart, I would like to know if it is possible to buy a fan of the 4850GS to replace mine? mine's making slight noise at 50%, and very very noisy at 100%. Is it a standard fan? Some powerlogic fan..

Bad, maybe one of the cards we sent back for RMA got mixed up. I RMA-ed one before due to black screen.

First batch IIRC not all affected though, so if yours no blackout then you're lucky .

Got tired of my 4850GS's stock fan making noise and decided to plug it off and then installed the 80mm from the back of my mobo to see how it goes.



Very clumsy way of fitting it, but this is just temporary.

So far temp seems to be better than stock fan @@! But not yet close the side panel yet ._. But its good to be back on silent . Instead of the noisy stock that sounds like the fan has been used for years and going to break down anytime.

Cause, my ears cannot tahan the noise of a spoil fan. At first use lubricant then was ok for a week or so, then no effect already. So decided to take the 80mm from the back of my motherboard. Was finding for my stack of cable tie. But so far so good, temperature I think is lower compared to the stock fan!

Mine is super noisy, removed it and put my CM690's back mobo fan liao LOL. Now peace man

My 4850GS was left at 50% all the time (default). But less than 6 months time the fan already spoil :S.

Took from my CM690, so is free lol.

Gainward was a excellent brand due to the distributor back then, but right now. Not really advisable unless you really want the Gainward brand.

My 4850GS fan already failing on me sometime ago, I enquired Scanart to buy a replacement fan, but then no response from god knows how long ago .

Newer batch 4850GS cannot go below 50%. It is due to the BIOS settings.

Nah,didn't send it back to them. I sort of DIYed myself and fitted a bigger fan LOL.

Or I might end up having a GC-less PC for like 3 - 6 months? :S Too risky lol! Besides I don't know if noisy gc fan can be claimed or not =/ It has always been operating at 50%, so fast spoil already haiz.

But I like the stock 4850GS's heatsink actually. It is working fine to me. Anyways I'm running a 80mm (or is it 92mm) fan on it. Better performance .

Not quite sure, my fan is always on 50% :S. Right now using those case fan tied to it. Even better lol.
