hi all,

im using optus australia, n i just request them to unlock my iphone.
yesterday i receive a msg that show my phone is unlocked.
i would like to ask, if i restore the iphone, issit i have to JB again my iphone ?

U still confuse with the term unlock n jailbreak. I suggest u to go http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/830708 and read Terminology: Meaning of Unlock, Jailbreak and Activate to get things straight.

P/S - Since that your set is an Officially Unlocked Set, it will not be locked again if you upgrade or restore the phone.

YES, you have to. You will loose your previous JB apps as well.

oh .. ya thanks.
so after unlocked, can i still use other telco if after unlock i didnt do restore ?
coz i really lazy to JB it again n reinstall all my apps.

try insert another sim card and try making calls or sms... if its working.. means u dont have to do restoration....
just slide the sim card in n make a call....

as my past based experience... i dont need to restore it...
but just give a try 1st kay?

Yes, tht's right. You should follow what the sms asked u to do. smile.gif I lost the optus unlocked sms coz I restore my iphone more than 10 times already.

The FW before 2.1 is not stable at all, apps crash most of the time. And also bcoz I was trying to tweak some stuffs in d iphone sometimes. Well, learnt from mistakes. hehe.
