and i ask some question to the seller,

the seller said he is from mobile88.com.my [COLOR=red],

he said his name is : Mr David Tan[COLOR=red]
his phone number is : 0142461190[COLOR=red]
his email adrss is : mobile88.david@hotmail.co.uk
[COLOR=red]
and i wan buy the phone cost in RM600 and
he said the item will send by GD EX ,
then he call me banking to
tis account last day (03.11.08) :

CIMB BANK
07380011923523
Tai Lok Chin
[COLOR=red]


and i still got two pdf file from Mr David Tan ,
all name in mobile88.com.my
all just like[color=red] real from mobile88.com.my company...
got invoice too...

Mudah is still safe if doing COD. Postage is a big no-no

nvr ever bank in $$ to stranger's account....especially the amount is big

finally he reply me,
he said :


Dear,Mr Chua,
currently GDex have a problem to deliver you
phone as promise. There has been a shipping
error, and the phone has been mistakenly shipped to sabah
as GDEX technical inform Mobile88,
So GDEX Team will send the phone reach johor Bharu (he said the mobile88 base in johor bharu but i check , the real base in cheras) .
This could take 5-7days to arrive back to Mobile88 and
dispatch back to you. So you can receive you're phone
in 7days max. We mobile88 and GDex team would like
to regret the inconvience that caused.

Normally to run a business, a business bank account with company name registered is used. Many online retailers have business account to track transaction. Based on the statement, it is likely unreliable for buyer to bank in to a staff account even he claimed he is the accountant and that is a private account or just normal saving account.

the n95 have been a long time there in mudah.com. i've contacted the seller several month ago asking bout the damn cheap n95 (RM700 that time) & he replied me with those documents telling they are from mobile88. the item location in mudah.com is in KL, when i try to ask for COD, he claims that the phone currently at JB. so i straight away cancel the deal. u can see at www.mobile88.com, they already mentioned there that they are not related with any sales using mobile88 name. conclusion is, u have been conned & try all ur best to track down this SOB & give him some lesson. for TS, this is a very valuable & 'expensive' lesson . be careful in the future & this message goes to anybody who read this. I know the location of mobile88.com in Cheras as I went there before to collect my prize after winning a slogan contest.

For sure this is con case.

1. Why don't you check the website. Mobile88.com have their own BuySell section and you must wondering why their own staff still want to sell in other website. Should they support own company first?

2. Another thing make me wonder is why using hotmail email for this transaction. If this is related to mobile88.com, then should use company email.

3. Bank account should be company account number.

4. After reading carefully the file, I notice that set are from Zitron. I never heard Zitron giving 6 months warranty as mention in the files.

You said you email to mobile88.com. If no reply why don't you call them and look for david tan.

ok, since he claimed he is from mobile88, i emailed mobile88 asking whether is there someone call Michael Ng.
then after 2 days, i received mobile88's reply, saying mobile88 dont hv this staff, and advice me not to deal with him if cant COD.

then...i just sleep over it...

i heard a friend of my friend(i dunno him) also got cheated by this *&^%$
i believe there are many out there who had been cheated by this fella

so be extra careful when buying online...online suppose to be a relax and stress free shopping..saves ur petrol frm going to shop...but end up misused by people

i prefer dealing with the shop better..safer and trustable... ....i dun 1 my hard collect money being vacuum by those jokers..

clearly the invoice fake. You must use proper english in official document. and people don't put 100% risk free in their invoice. And the T&C look clearly fake. Why T&C about website? And not to mention bad spelling and other things. Clearly fake.

If its good to be true then its fake. U got PWNED. I don't know if police will help you since this is not a high profile case. So good luck.

Technically, i think this guy has left some important clues for the police to take action.

1) Bank Account - If this 'tai lok' name is what you see when you banked in, i think it wouldn't be long before the police get hold of him to investigate. This guy definitely knows the con-man or is the con-man himself.

2) Phone Number- Eventhough currently registration is required, he may have used some other people's IC for this purpose. But if he is not that smart, then easier la.

3) The lousy invoice- This practically proves that you banked in the money to 'tai lok' guy for this particular transaction. Not any other reason.

Therefore, if you can bring along your bank-in slip or receipt, maybe even better.



Another thing you want to consider is....if there has been consignment number given to you to track your parcel.

If yes, then good la...can check with the courier company the current status. and of course the recipient's address written there.

If not...then ok also. can just say you didn't get any number.



Pray hard...and hopefully the police will help crack and solve this case!



I think the voluntary feedback system works quite well in LYN to counter this problem. Those with good feedbacks want to keep their reputation.

And those without good feedbacks don't stay too long.

Really sorry for peoples who were victimized by the conmans at mudah.com.my.

Below are some declaration:
1) Mobile88.com has never ask to transfer money into 3rd party account but only to Mobile88.com Sdn Bhd.
2) Mobile88.com is based in KL
3) Mobile88.com never sells any 2nd hand nokia phone

There are many conmans around in the cyberworld and members here have given lots of good suggestions/practice when purchase online.

We do receive calls quite often to report on such cases and most by the same person pretend to work with mobile88 and from JB.

This is how they operate, first post "phone for sales" in mudah.com.my and when customer contacted them, they will start to tell story and pursuade the customer to bank-in money in somebody's account (normally student who want to earn extra money by rent out their bank account, once the money transfer into this person account, he will get instruction to withdraw/transfer to somebody ... then they get paid.)

We always advise to deal with stranger in COD only.
We have advised anybody to report to police if they got cheated and we have reported this to police and also mudah.com.my. But seems that mudah.com.my couldn't do anything even police has visited their office.

Please do share this around to avoid more people fall-prey to that conman.

they are strong because of the portal and their service, ipay88.

i dont think they are in business with mobile reload anymore.
most people prefer to use MAYBANK or CIMB to topup.

We always feel sorry when heard people got cheated, all are hard-earned money. Sometime, we cannot blame them cause lot of newbies are not aware on such scams.

Also we have to admit that mobile88.com is messy but we have engaged 3rd party to revamp and hope our new look in 2009 will be better. And we always welcome suggestions and comments from the surfers. Do feel free to drop us your valuable feedback at feedback@mobile88.com.


For reload, due to many reasons that its no longer a viable business online:
1) commission from Telcos has been reduced tremendously
2) subscriber can reload their prepaid almost everywhere and "convenient" factor no longer there.
but we definitely learn lot of lessons from that which result in setup of ipay88 payment gateway.

As mentioned, bad comments are always valuable and we really appreciate that. Lots of people may not tell you how bad you are but if they are really take their efford to tell then we will really take it seriously.

Useless, the police are damn useless... My friend was conned before... He is an avid online gamer, there was once a person trying to sell him mol point online and ask him to bank in RM400 into his account. After doing that, the loony refuse to answer his calls and made a lot of excuses. He did report that to the police. You know what?? The police in charged don't even know how to write a police report and do not know how to spell certain words.. So my friend help her to check. Then this woman put my friend on the phone to an inspector. This inspector encourage my friend not to find him as he will be having troubles like travelling from cyberjaya to the police station in shah alam frequently just to assist him in the investigation... Can you imagine this happened? How capable is our policeman??

buyer should check wit mobile88 on the first place.. and more suspect if the acc name is diff from seller name...
