Kingsurf finally received a ban outside the state of Johor...Might be a smart move to reginite heavy interest in the participation of tournaments in Malaysia or is it just the community's way to punish greatness? You guys decide.

To ban all their players is a bit unfair in my opinion. Limit the players to 2 or even 1 per team. That should increase the competitiveness of the scene overall and perhaps increase the teams joining by virtue of them forming 2 or even 5 teams to join depending on the bans on them.

1 thing to note. Since 2006, whichever team that won the tournament 1 week before SMM , wins the the whole thing. This tournament sure will be an exciting one to follow.

Ya, other Asian countries has tried similar attempts to boost the scene. For future tournaments with similar aims and aspirations, a better idea is to organise an "Amateur Tournament" where people such as yourself can sit at the registration counter and limit each team's players to 1 or 2 of the "top 4" teams in Malaysia at that time according to the organiser.

This could have the effect of the "top 4 team pros" setting up teams and pass on their knowledge to potential new talents and be the great players in the future. It will also certainly increase the number of teams participating and increase true competitiveness within the community.

I think V2 did a smart move this time around and is heading at the right direction to make the scene fresh. Great work from you guys.

if MYM,finatic & Ehome is really coming for SMM Finals, i hardly think that this is the sort of competition that KS shud be joining to prepare for those teams

Ok, basically this is very unfair for our team. We were the first team to register for your tournament on the 4th of Nov. We have done so much negotiations to achieve enough funding to actually participate in your tournament and now, you tell us this piece of information so abruptly, it's obviously unfair.

So whenever a good team appears, you ban that team? Why isn't w4si and dna-sk included in this banlist then? Apparently that means your boss are looking down on those teams. Kingsurf should not be totally banned, perhaps like what underminer has said, restrict the number of players for Kingsurf seeing as they international achievements and more experience therefore scaring away newer teams, but if you were to ban all the local upcoming teams that are merely putting up a fight for kingsurf, there is no point in hosting a gaming tournament.

Although we do respect your boss's decision however please put yourself in our position.. We had to apply for leave for our jobs as well as give an approriate reason on taking 2 days off from school when it's SPM week just to go for your tournament. Their parents would be very upset. It is very troublesome for my players and unbecoming.

I hope your boss will change his mind although he may not be understanding as I know he has his own "personal" reasons on banning us...........

Like wat underminer and seanz said..banning a seeded team wont do any good...it will just cause anger to those that got banned...i mean we all do know that KingSurf is the top team in Malaysia but like wat underminer said...Restrict them from all 5 of them joining...i mean like in a team they would like have ppx or ymt and another 3 of their friends...it is a very good chance for them to see how the competetive world is played compared to a pub game...I mean why do u guys wanna ban a team...its not like they are black listed for using hacks or anything,they got ban because they we're good???does that make any sense???

They are all top teams and individual who have work hard to accomplish what they are now.

If organizers are interested in making it an Amatuer DOTA competition, please say so and then restrict all those top DOTA clans... Not fair to those banned teams where else they rest of the pro DOTA teams are not being banned as well...

Restrict players from top teams to enter... that will be a better way of handling it. Restrict for each team can only have 2 or 3 players from a top clan... Then i think it's pretty fair...

Maybe few days later will added up few NOTES: stating "sorry guys, my boss just informed me team w4s|/DNA/mkvl banned for this tournament." Unless, those team pay them 'undertable' lolz.

Note: For team ice and ks, u guys should be proud of it for being banned as they afraid 2 of you.

It's quite unreasonable after we prepared everythings and worked so hard to get sponsor for this tournament then we get banned before 6 days from the tournament's day. Why don't just informed us earlier???? So,we no need to waste times on preparing it. Somemore this is the very first time my team compete in 6.56 tournament and we going this tournament without full team,we just want to get more experiences before SMM grand final coming. And we took 2 days leave from our works to go this tournament. haiz

Meh, I would think that if you want to stop a top team from joining, you might as well stop the other top teams from joining as well, and make it into an "Amateur" tournament so to speak, like the others before me have suggested. But instead of stopping there, the organiser should raise the possibility of inviting top teams for an invitational, instead of them joining the actual tournament. Or, since there's travelling and living expenses and all, why not invite top teams that are situated near the venue? That way smaller/amateur teams or whatever you wish to call them, get the chance to actually watch these top teams play.

Let's face it, who would not want to watch top teams play? New teams might dread playing AGAINST them, but not watching them play someone else.

i agree with them. why ban? no need to ban. you only need to unleash them. dont stop them. whats the point? to get more teams to compete? so if top teams participate and the lower teams are happy because they get a chance to win? well win what? the money? to be the best you must compete with the bests. and thats for glory. that is what sports is all about. ask kingsurf how they won the championship. because the trained hard!

just an opinion, if wanna ban i think its better to ban according to a better standard from a recognize tourney.

eg: top 3 in ESWC Malaysia or whteva reputable dota tourney in malaysia.

we actually did an amateur FIFA tourney which restricted the top 4 in WCG and CEL Games to enter regardless of clan or clanless player.

but to b honest, why ban? if i were participating, i will feel damn insulted winning this tourney coz i noe that im not trully the best.

that i just won coz tht ehem ehem etc etc team didnt join..

You could request your own sponsored cafe or maybe you can even host the
tournament yourself.
They have the right to ban teams, if you guys dont like it. Dont join then.
