upgraded from HJ1
so far... no problems encountred by me using HK3
i find the menu opens up faster
battery life is good

im still exploring tho

HJ1 not giving me any problem at all
well.. im upgrading cos i jus wanna try out the new firmware
so far, i've been opening and closing applications, press here n there, no hang yet.
battery life seems better? when i was still on HJ1, battery kenot tahan since i call and text a lot
now HK3 battery can last longer, waited very long to see the battery bar drop by 1
but i do feel the menu load faster than HJ1..

im using vista btw

yeap.. jus follow the steps to upgrade firmware

last nite full charge my phone.

today usage:
GPS for about 1 hour in da morning,
heavy sms and about 5 phone calls,
games for about half hour

battery left 80% now...
so wat do u guys think? i feel HK3 battery life is better than HJ1

since somebody pm-ed me how to do it on vista.. i paste here also ba
guide to update firmware for those who r using vista32bit.. hope tis help

1. go to this site

2. download both files as shown below. u can get the HK3 firmware by selecting Malaysia or Singapore country


3. install the windows mobile device center

4. open the installed windows mobile device center and connect ur omnia via USB cable. wait until u get the connected icon as shown below


5. once u get the connected icon, select the latest firmware u wan to flash ur omnia with.


6. double click it, tick the circled tickbox. click the verify device and ur omnia will download all the necessary files and flash itself. everything will run by itself. u jus need to wait. everything else, jus follow the instruction shown on ur monitor or omnia.


7. once the update completed, ur omnia will reboot twice.

notes:
*backup all ur data 1st before updating, files and documents stored in My Storage wont be affected
*when u r flashing ur omnia, don do it when ur battery life is low
*do not plug off cable or do anything to ur omnia when the phone is updating
*wait till 2nd reboot only do screen calibration. if u do it on the 1st reboot, u need to redo again on the 2nd reboot
*DO IT AT UR OWN RISK!!

any1 chargin omnia battery with HK3 firmware?
battery reached 100% but the red light did not turn into green...

official rom - upgrade, warranty still valid
leaked rom - upgrade n ur omnia KONG, u send to warranty, tak boleh claim warranty sebab u sudah void warranty
FMG set mana mana ROM pun boleh upgrade. depends on u only

if u wan go official, then DZHK3
if u wan use leaked rom, DZHL2
or u wan use custom cooked rom, can find in modaco forum

i can not tell u which rom suit ur omnia best, cos omnia are all the same
wat makes it different is how the omnia owner/user customise the interface, make some tweaks to boost performance and other stuff which will make it easier for them to use.

firmware upgrades normally fix bugs in previous firmware, but new bugs might appear too.

there is owes a risk in upgrading. don mention cooked rom, even if u r using official firmware, u still got the 50% 50% chances of bricking ur phone.

all samsung is like tat 1... soft ring then suddenly bcome loud... dun know if can change tat setting.

anyway.. if u know wher r u heading, forget the GPS...
when u take the wrong turn, u will go NUTS when the GPS keep tellin u to u-turn u-turn n u-turn and start all over again..
