woot~!! v2 already

Thanks TS.. hopefully the first post will be updated always wink.gif

Please refer to v1's first post, there was a tip on how to install Garmin XT on Omnia, I followed that guide and succesfully installed my Omnia.

Also you might want to put the latest official firmware for Malaysia.. and maybe suggestions for the few custom ROMs that we here use (with precaution that custom/unofficial firmware will invalidate warranty, of course)

Also... now I own a second Omnia, 16Gb - FMG Set (Black) - price: Free (received as a gift) rclxms.gif

maybe,

48.(a) sharpman - 8GB - FMG Set (RM2600) + 4GB MicroSDHC + Original Samsung Pouch (Black)

48.(b) sharpman - 16GB - FMG Set (received as gift) + Original Samsung Pouch + Bluetooth Headset (Black)

there are already four custom roms that i know of. and all of them updates their stuff at modaco. so i think for now, a link to the omnia rom forum is the best alternative.... as for suggestion. i dont own an omnia yet tongue.gif so cant test which one is the best.

i still hang on to my trusty o2 mini 4 years old and still kicking biggrin.gif omnia is to be bought when i can get to kl smile.gif
*
I agree.. you had the same idea as mine actually. Good luck in getting your Omnia.. very soon I hope rclxms.gif

I think the price range for original FMG set should be
around ~ RM2500 for 8GB set and ~ RM2900 for 16 GB set,
give or take RM100.

You should get free pouch, screen protector and if you're lucky, bluetooth headset as well. smile.gif

Correct me if I am wrong my fellow Omnians smile.gif

--------------------------------------------------------

BTW TS, you may want to include this link to download *freeware* TCPMP player for Omnia --> here <--
(tested working, plays full length 700 MB xvid movie without a hitch )

copy the .cab file inside Omnia. Then open the file from Omnia, not from your PC, it will install smile.gif

So lucky! shocking.gif

Yeah considered lucky since my 8GB Omnia has the problem of phone turning off almost everyday making it a good PDA without phone capabilities tongue.gif

I just upgraded to DZHJI from official website...seem ok to me

Added on November 5, 2008, 9:48 pm
tks, anywhere or in the windows folder?
*
anywhere as long as enough free space. I would advise to copy it to My Storage smile.gif
Then using the built-in WinMo's File Explorer, go to where you copy the .cab file and open it

Yo guys, just bought my Omnia.
Does the camera improve with new firmware? It seems too 'white' when i leave it all on auto.

And one more thing, does anyone here uses ZAGG invisible shield? Can you share your experience?
I think the cheapo screen protector on mine is causing problems around the edge of screens.
*
What I read from Modaco thread many users of ZAGG invisible shield felt that the screen became less responsive to touch. Some opted to take out the front protector while only covering the back portion with the shield. I will try to find the link of that thread.

I think the original Samsung screen protector provided is good enough for the job, IMHO.

guys...any1 know how to view flash contents in d website via opera?its seems does not support it.it did not show d flash contents.example if there is a button to click and d button needs flash plugins but d button does not show or come out.any1 know how  to solve?
*
angel-girl, current Omnia offical or leaked firmware contain FlashLite 2.1 which does not support much of website's flash content including youtube.

To overcome this, replace your firmware with one of those custom ROMs that comes with FlashLite 3.1.
Check the first post of this thread smile.gif

anyone heavily depending on the stylus to use the transcriber and block reader? i used those almost 90% for sms or anything related to text

u guys thinks keyboard better or using the stylus to input text easier?
*
I am now comfortable of using stylus in letter recognizer mode, I can sms faster on letter recognizer than using virtual keyboard or samsung phonepad wink.gif

juz flashed it huhuhu....eH can revert back to the official J1 ROM?
*
yes you can.

note to all. If you want to revert or update to official Malaysia/Singapore ROM which starts with DZxxx .. just make sure your current ROM version starts with DX or DZ.

For example users of custom ROMs are based on DTHJx so you will get error "Incorrect version" when trying to install official DZxxx ROM wink.gif

p/s: my bad... I forgot to add, those of you who are on non DX or DZ at the moment but wish to change to official ROM, you need to flash 2 times.
1st, flash into any of those leaked DX roms then you can flash to the official rom:)

hi i plan to get omnia under sg warranty..can somebody advise if there will be any trouble then
*
Keep in mind that for any warranty claim, you must go back to Singapore. Of course you can get Omnia way cheaper over there smile.gif

Yes it will invalidate your warranty, but you can always revert back to official firmware if you have problem with your Omnia (assuming that the problem doesn't involve a bricked Omnia tongue.gif)

My point is do it at your own risk, decide whether the features offered in cooked firmware is worth the risk smile.gif
